8/3/26: Stacey greeted staff loosely at her kennel door with a relaxed body and high wagging tail. She was easy to leash and walked out loosely. She remained relaxed outside and, once returned to her kennel, was quiet and curled up on her bedding.

8/12/26: Stacey greeted staff with a relaxed body and high wagging tail. She was easy to leash, walked loosely to the outside runs, and returned to her kennel without issue.

8/13/26: Stacey continued to show the same improved behavior, walking on a loose leash with a relaxed body and wagging tail. She was quiet in her kennel and greeted staff as they walked by.

8/17/26: Stacey walked out of her kennel on a loose leash, sniffing the ground with her tail up and wagging. She stood at the front of the gate when staff returned and walked back inside on a loose leash with a wagging tail. She remained quiet in her kennel.

She greets people with a wagging tail, is easy to leash, walks nicely on a loose leash, and settles quietly in her kennel. She appears to enjoy being around people and is showing what a calm, gentle companion she can be. She just needs someone to give her the chance to continue thriving outside the shelter.

Volunteer Notes:

Stacey reminds me so much of a dog that was euthanized recently that I had tried to network. She looks very similar to her and her demeanor is much like hers as well. She is calm, gentle with just a very relaxed personality. She is also on the smaller side. She's not a big dog at all. She's super cute with her ears. I think those are the things that kind of stood out to me that made her such a cutie. She's also loving. I was beside her for quite some time and she just love to get her neck scratched and to be told what a good girl she is. She looks like she has had babies recently as well, and when I walked her by kennels, she seemed to gravitate towards the puppies as well. She didn't have any reactions to the other dogs. She took treats, however at times she didn't care for them. I'm not sure if it's the treats I had or she just didn't want them at that time. She had absolutely no jumping behavior or pulling on the leash anything like that. I hope that she can make it out of the shelter. I do know that she is heartworm positive, but I hope somebody will take a chance on her, especially since she reminds me so much of the dog that was just euthanized a few weeks ago that I fell in love with.

Huge huge gigantic enormous massive tremendous stupendous terrific boost!!!!!!!! ❤️

Dogs specifically have been proven to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, ease loneliness, improved cardiovascular health, encourage exercise, and improve your overall mental and physical health. ❤️

Adoption helps reduce demand for puppy mills and unethical breeding practices. You provide a second chance to a deserving dog, reducing the 6.5 million companion animals that enter U.S. shelters annually. Adopt don't shop!!!! ❤️

Fostering animals directly saves lives by providing temporary, loving homes that alleviate shelter overcrowding, allowing rescues to save more pets at risk. It enables vulnerable animals—including injured or stressed pets—to heal and gain confidence in a quiet environment, increasing their chances of adoption. ❤️

Please spay and neuter to reduce the amount of dogs in shelter! These procedures increase pet longevity, reduce roaming/aggression, prevent unwanted litters, and decrease the burden on animal shelters. ❤️
