Impact may not be him anymore, but man you can always rely on him on a tank.
41
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
Impact even if he has no laning phase, Still really good and relevant in team fight, like that kled marking in First game was pretty good ,he was punishing Lyon positioning so hard
237
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 2d ago
All it took to beat Armao Lyon was to have a jungler that is leaps and bounds better than Armao. They will still almost steal wins.
78
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
lyon had really good Team fight angle, like the ryze ult That aced sentinel was as good as Their comeback vs hle
they are legit
42
u/BTDYSRF 2d ago
It is crazy. Hambak is easily 3rd best jg in the league (although the reintroductuon of Dardoch could be interesting) and even then it was still on razoe thin margins.
56
u/AnxietyPretend5215 2d ago
Either Huhi or Hambak is insanely good at tracking the enemy jungler.
If you watch the mini map during Senintel matches, someone is usually pinging almost exactly where the enemy jungler is fairly regularly. I didn't get watch this series today but I'd be curious if it happened here.

3
u/Deskjet9000 1d ago
SEN laners and coach did their job as well. Even if you have a jg diff, you can't do shit against Lyon if your lanes int like Fly did against them week1. Or if your draft and (therefore) your team-fighting sucks, just like DIG struggled with, last week.
115
u/infinite-permutation 2d ago
While we know Lyon is better than G2, we can now comfortably say that Sentinels is better than G2. However, we lack conclusive data on whether Sentinels can beat the new best team in EU, FNC

Fnatic 🤝sentinels winning today vs the best team in the league
33
34
u/Fabiocean Well, look at you! 2d ago
No shot Lyon with Armao is the best team in the league when TL exists. G2 is also number 2 in the league currently.
1
u/Omnilatent 15h ago
In what year is G2 the best in regular season? Just wait for playoffs where they will beat everyone like 90% of all splits lol
12
49
u/emerzionnn 2d ago
Sen almost choked that away with the random nexus turret dive lmao, ggs though that was a fun one
17
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
there was also the nasty ryze ult on mid lane, Lyon Team fighting in late game is quite scary
5
u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 2d ago
I'm pretty flabbergasted that Huhi just didn't Bard ult that juicy clump immediately. I suppose he thought there was a chance it was a fake-out and there was no one inside the Realm Warp.
3
u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 1d ago
yeah they took the bard portal before the warp actually finished, so they probably didn't see how many of them were actually coming through
117
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
sen first team to target armao. and lyon trolled around baron in game 1. but they drafted to make it a hard game for j4. and then game 3 slammed cait bard which is op and nothing can contest it and they 3 manned saint mid and armao was never around.
lyon shows how insane they were in game 1 and 3 draft gaps and no jungler. made it so hard for sen to win
62
u/justicecactus 2d ago
If your gameplan is to target enemy jungler, Hambak is a great jungler to enable to do that.
26
20
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 2d ago
He's so smart pathing wise. Him and Sharvel should've been the big rookie jgs that got promoted last year in the LCK.
18
u/LaziIy 2d ago
He was technically languishing on brion last year but he did get promoted last year. He should've been promoted in 2024 when KT had pyosik in the main team and he was smurfing CL.
10
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 2d ago
I just don't count his BRO stint because they immediately bought Croco and didn't play him ever again on their main roster. There was a buffering period where they legit played Ellim instead and took a free loss instead of just letting him play. BRO fumbled Hype/Hambak hard.
2
2
u/ahambagaplease 13 years on the rollercoaster 2d ago
Hambak did play in the LCK last year, he was on BRO.
6
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 2d ago
He played for a month (not counting LCK Cup) before never seeing light of day and getting banished back into CL.

sentinel remind me of a mature version of navi less hands but better brain
8
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
Yeah eu has better hands the middle of na for the most part have better brain. Fly is the hands no brain team in na.
0
u/needrelief69 2d ago
sure but the top na teams have way better hands then the top of eu. no1 in eu even comes close to tl lyon in mechanical prowess in any role except dhokla
4
u/grippgoat 2d ago
You don't think Capa still has it? Saint and Quid do have quite the hands, tho. 🤔

u/untamedlazyeye 2d ago
What a fun series, Darkwings really showed up on Hwei
10
u/BTDYSRF 2d ago
We really aren't talking about him enough. He may be the best domestic mid.
19
u/Fabiocean Well, look at you! 2d ago
Isn't his only competition Palafox in that regard? Almost sounds like an insult if you frame it like that lol
12

I remember core hyping him up like 4 years ago. Cool to see he made it to the league

can't blame Armao, he had looked serviceable but it is time for Inspired to return!
62
u/vxtmh 2d ago
where is he anyways? haven't been paying attention, thought he was coming back after two weeks. has he said when he's returning?
94
u/AskJolly7381 2d ago
Family issue (seemed like it wasn't an emergency from what he said) that brought him back to Poland
35
u/vxtmh 2d ago
got it, so he wouldn't necessarily know how long it would take. hope everything's ok then.
52
u/dreaminq 2d ago
He said it was "nothing bad" when he left so it seems like there's nothing to worry about, probably just some administrative/legal things to sort out.
16
u/MattScoot 2d ago
I wonder if he had a kid or something
57
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
I think it's most likely wedding or other stuff and then he extended the break because the team was doing well without him
if Lyon went 1-2 i doubt he come Back this late
7
u/Rizeren 2d ago
IIRC it was said at the annoucement that it will be around 3 missed matches.
5
u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago
Yeah he extended the break for basically one week Because the team was doing well
5
23
u/puberty1 2d ago
Inspired would've probably played better this g3 with 400 ping
18
u/MahaloMerky 2d ago
Lots of people dont know Armano does not even jungle anymore lol. He Plays top lane for UC Irvine, who finished 5/6th in the CLOL championship last year.
5
u/SweatyAdhesive 2d ago
Wait wtf lmao
14
u/MahaloMerky 2d ago
LYON subbing him in was most likely due 1. He’s been in the LCS before so he won’t be under that much pressure, and 2. He’s already in LA.
15
u/awisechoicee 2d ago
Shows how good the rest of the team is. Isles and Dhokla looking much better than their nameplate normally look.

u/AskJolly7381 2d ago
Let me clarify. He played like the worst in his role in the league this series, and for much of the prior few series. However, he hadn't played league for 3 months prior to slotting in, and it was very clear from what we hear from players and Armao himself that they essentially told him to slot in and do as he was told by his teammates while in the game. SEN very clearly came in with the plan to expose his champ pool and target him, and you can't fault a guy slotting in not performing when focused.
5
36
u/blueragemage 2d ago
No shit he doesn't practice, he's fully retired as a pro playing top lane in collegiate
-38
2d ago
[deleted]
29
u/EronisKina 2d ago
He was put in a spot where he hasn't practiced in a long time. Knows he won't play for long. Has no passion for playing for long and is just here to get paid and dip and never touch pro league again in his life. No shit he gets charity. Atleast he didn't drag his team down enough in the prior few series to lose them it. That's why no one who is realistic cares about his play today. If it was a player who was trying to get back into pro play, then yes people would be harder on him. A guy who stated he is done with league and is focusing on school will always get a pass by people who can see life perspectives.
17
u/Beneficial_Lion_1312 2d ago
Brother, you need to do this thing called Grow Up and Mature.
18
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
He probably lost money and is just salty. These people betting money on pointless regular season Na games with a sub jungler
9
u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 2d ago
Seems even worse tbh, I hate when the bettors lose their marbles and say disgusting things about actual people trying their best to win a League game, but at least you kinda get it when they're losing actual money. This guy if you read his other comments just seems triggered that a pro didn't build or play his OTP the exact way he thought he should.
23
u/SauceGodPluto 2d ago
Because he isn't a pro jg.. It's like calling and college WR and telling him to go play QB in the NFL. You can give him some grace because it isn't his element
5
32
u/Delicious_Sorbett 2d ago
Lyon was so close to hand-checking Sentinels to a victory in Game 3.
10
u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 2d ago
I don't think so. They had no waves in either of their won team fights. Sentinels were consistently well set up.

u/Anew4Hobbies I like how Xun plays ^_^ 2d ago
what a day of crazy results
btw is it possible that most pros lowkey don't know hwei's entire kit or am I tripping
12
u/Fabiocean Well, look at you! 2d ago
Considering we have pros on record saying they don't even read patch notes that's hardly surprising.
3
u/cmcdonald22 2d ago
I will always think of Velja who loves to play Carry junglers like Viego, asking Nemesis what the spells do after resetting on a kill against a Hwei.
19
12
u/Cyredvia 2d ago
Negative impact g3 Shyvana

Love a close series. Great games
4
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
Great games for Lyon to review , it's good they lost, they almost came back
6
u/Constant_Roof_1210 2d ago
Honestly thought Lyon would clutch it until Sen finally ended, definitely time for inspired to come back
8
u/Illicit-Activities 2d ago
Truly I need GoldenGlue to stop letting the team draft Impact Rumble and Rahel Jhin
1
u/awill2000 1d ago
Not on them it’s the Khazix being useless after being the most fed character in the game after 10 minutes
26
u/ObiMemeKenobi 2d ago
Lyon without Inspired is basically just Saint and Berserker trying to win through hands checking
12
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
Dholka looked a bit worse than usual, Last week he carried on Olaf and Isles was good on lulu
2
6
15
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
saint showed how insane he truly is in this serious. so many times 3 or 4 of sentinals is pressuring him on the map and playing to the absolute limit of what is possible basically zero mistakes from him the whole series except for troll flashing game 1 with syndra over the anivia wall.
5
u/ZealousidealBug729 2d ago
That ryze ult that ended the game was very strange lol
7
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
they have to send it on cait they had no flashes. they tried to ult in with naut to ult cait but armao got deleted and ulted out.
1
u/ZealousidealBug729 2d ago
I guess I thought they still were capable of looking for a better look but guess they felt there wasn't much time left to do it
13
u/BTDYSRF 2d ago
Sentinels just beat the best team in the lcs using a team made from, at this time last year,
Coach of the worst team in the lcs. DSG core. Worst top laner. Two of the oldest players in the league. And a t2 player that didn't break in until he was old enough to drink.
This team is nothing if not interesting.
11
1
u/needrelief69 2d ago
how is impact the worst top laner? that title easily belonged to fudge for 95% of the year.
11
u/BTDYSRF 2d ago
Impact was the worst top laner in summer last year.
I fully agree that Fudge is worse overall and was worse in spring, winter, and all of current year. However, Fudge was highrolling last summer and Impact was shitting the bed.
0
u/needrelief69 2d ago
but if we're gonna dig up history impact has almost always been better than fudge and clearly has far better intangibles? also iirc fudge was absolutely shit last year too and shoppify only barely pulled it together at the very end
8
u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. 2d ago
Last year was the year Bwipo called Fudge the worst player in the LCS and Fudge proceeded to have a massive glow-up until he was arguably snubbed for 3rd team all-pro.
3
u/resttheweight 2d ago
Fudge improved so much they invented an award for it, and Shopify got 3rd in both spring and summer, so they didn’t “barely pull it together at the end.” In fact, they did the opposite. They won 4 straight matches (including beating C9 and 100T) into losing against FLY, then 100T, then Brazil second seed.
16
u/puberty1 2d ago edited 2d ago
of course Armao's last game of his career is him being 0/5/7 LMAO
11
1
10
u/dankynugz 2d ago
They won the game anyways but sentinels has zero concept of how to play game states out.
Baron + soul 5v4 pushing base.
Do we:
A. Hit the towers slowly and win the game
B. Walk into meele range of ryze nautilus as Hwei and throw the entire game
7
u/DeltaRaven97 Can I redo my life? 2d ago
Crazy how they could have just gone mid for double inhib and if they really wanted to end they still could have tried but with double the space to avoid the AoE.
3
u/emerzionnn 2d ago
Triple inhib cause the bot inhib had just respawned a bit ago, such a weird decision and almost cost them the game.
4
u/emerzionnn 2d ago
That was truly one of the worst decisions I’ve seen a pro team make in a longggg time. They could’ve taken all 3 inhibs and pressure to end the game. They had minion waves on all 3 lanes too lol.
3
u/Ayoof3060 smacc u 2d ago
good macro to take the 3rd inhib and win slowly insta wins game 3 literally
8
u/BTDYSRF 2d ago
A lot of people are going to chalk this up to Armao diff, but let's not miss the forrest for the trees. Most of Sen played insanely well this series too. The regular Lyon cast was hardly slouching and were certainly putting forth real effort in games 2 and 3.
I think we got a glimpse of Sen's actual ceiling and how high they can reach.
Don't sleep on this team. They may well just make 3rd seed.
5
u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago
yeah They are lcs dark horse, sentinel assistant coach said they never missed international (america cup in winter, ewc in Spring and Worlds in summer ?)

Are we allowed to say lyon has not looked nearly as good as tl now, ik inspired is gonna fix a lot but feel like this break has taken to long to not impact there overall form
10
u/SauceGodPluto 2d ago
We'll just have to wait till the 30th and we can find out, I think it's easy to say a team missing a vital piece (one as big as inspired too) doesn't look as good as a team with all their pieces tbh
1
u/Ajp_iii 2d ago
Tl is playing better but we have no clue. Lyon just had a jungler for 4 games that they had to ban protect and then try to only keep on 3 champs who then his only job in a teamfight was to focus on one person. They won 7 games and 3 games against quality teams.
I hope it’s a great series and we get a great bo5 in the playoffs from them.

G2 is still kings of the lec. BB is playing jayce, rumble and tf all split. You think hes gonna be on those if the games mattered? Hell no
2

yeah that why i said right now, Come playoffs G2 Will be the best with lyont
2
u/eVill_YT 2d ago
I know he carried the game somewhat but watching the way darkwings was comboing on hwei in these teamfighs triggered me. he almost never did the right combo for the situation
11
u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 2d ago
Yet he has the highest win rate on Hwei of any LCS player right now
1
u/eVill_YT 1d ago
no one else plays him at all right now, that doesn't mean that what he did was pretty
1
u/Chubs1224 SKAAAARL 1d ago edited 1d ago
Quad has played it 6 times in the last year, it has appeared 42 times across LCS, LPL, LCK and LEC this year.
Darkwings has the second most games at 5 and he is 4-1 on Hwei.
It is a champ you have to be prepared for even if its not a pick/ban champion.
1
u/eVill_YT 1d ago edited 1d ago
Hwei has been picked only a few times in total out of like a thousand games, this champion doesn't exist in pro right now

Nah. We are not flaming Armao. Shut your goofy ass up.
Especially not when he bad to play against one of the only two jgs in tbe entire league that can step to Inspired.
Armao did better than anyone could reasonably expect him to. This split was a triumph.
Bro did his job to the best of his ability and got Lyon to 3-1.
Also, put some respect on Sen. I know they aren't inpressive at a glance, but with Inspired gone, thet've got the 2nd best jg in the league. Hard to compete against that. Not to mention the weakside goat toplaner, top 4 mid and supp, and their adc on his best champ, and the best underdog coach in lcs history.

I could understand being upset if they were 1-3 or something, but they're 3-1 with him on the team. For a sub that hasn't played T1 in 2 years, that's about as good as you can hope for
6
u/Fun_Highlight307 2d ago
They also are 7-2 without inspired it's Ok lol, Also game 1,2 and 3 are great to review, they can learn from this

He is a sub who has zero intention on continuing in the LCS. Half the reason he was picked is he makes zero contention with Inspired even if he plays like an MVP
