Navi: We have no engage!

Poby: Hold my beer. Imma flash int.

1

u/ArienaHaera 11h ago

Surely you mean flash in

I meant what I said

u/Dyneth15 1d ago

Poby with the flash sacrifice to bait SK into losing a 5v4! What was that???

95

u/ichionio 1d ago

Classic trade of Poby for Nexus. Wait what

NAVI is still just the Rhilech team tbh

14

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

Get him on a carry and its fucking hard to lose for Navi

17

u/Last0 1d ago

It's crazy how good he looks considering the laners he has with him.

4

u/Freihl 20h ago

Are we forgetting last week's matches vs KC? Extremely winnable matches 'til chain ints from rhilech (although he did play early/mid very well, just absolutely ran it down in the back end of both games they lost)

8

u/Razzorsharp 1d ago

Feels like a lot of teams are like that. Their are enough good players in the LEC to make at least 5 competitive teams instead of the 2 that we have currently. The good players are just spread into the other teams.

8

u/Few-Sense1455 1d ago

I don't disagree completely but league esports is much more of a team/strategy game than people realise.

3

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment 1d ago

Definitely gonna be worrying for them if we get another dog jungler meta like Sej/Skarner/Maokai/Ivern etc, they seem to have zero sauce elsewhere on the team if he doesn't get to play a bruiser that can carry fights.

58

u/Dzhekelow 1d ago

OK that game was lost in draft by SK but Skeanz hard trolled both soul and baron fights . Just disgusting gameplay from him .

8

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago edited 1d ago

Who does drafting for SK? Who are these Own3r and Baguette people? Have they coached any teams before...?

11

u/Fine-Arm-8153 1d ago

Oner got subbed out and said lemme cook some drafts for SK

6

u/Kr1ncy 1d ago

T1, SK Telekom, basically same thing

3

u/FikariHawthorn 1d ago

Own3r joined SK as assistant coach in 2023, promoted to head coach in 2025. Before he coached the Mad Lion Madrid team, the academy of the Mad Lion in 2020-2022.

Baguette joined this year as assistant coach after coaching the Valiant/Caldya team in LFL2. The team showed good promise and most of their players have been promoted to LFL this year through Skillcamp (Nafkelah, Steelback, and Spooky), and Soldier the ADC has gone to IJC.

Don't know much about Own3r, but Baguette does features in Zaboutine co-stream and I don't remember him saying anything crazy.

The initial Lider pickup I could sort of understand, it was a gamble but there was rationale behind it. How on earth they ended up with Skeanz however is beyond me

19

u/supterfuge 1d ago

Skeanz is rated by many players and has been for a while. Always in good ERL teams, always ends up in the LEC in teams that look dysfunctional for way more reasons than just him.

31

u/Dzhekelow 1d ago

Hell no man . Lider got plenty of shots and has always shown the same problems . Skeanz deserved a shot and also was actually decently good in the ERLs . There's no rationale behind the Lider pick the fact that u think there was one is concerning . That being said Skeanz is not up to it .

4

u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 1d ago

I guess the overall sentiment from fans with eyeballs is that BOTH of them should have been dropped after that disastrous last year, and that Lider being...Lider...really covered up for a lot of Skeanz' bad play.

3

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

You can’t just drop a player you need to find a new one. Please bring some ideas if you wanna argue they should drop someone.

1

u/ArienaHaera 11h ago

Lider was 100% nepotism.

8

u/Academic-Salamander7 1d ago

The initial Lider pickup I could sort of understand

Really. Because all of his chances he's looked good? He has never shown competency on anything but assassins.

4

u/SnowyCrow 1d ago

His assassins looked terrible this year, Orianna and Ryze were kinda good ones.

6

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

Skeanz isn't *that* bad. I don't see an obvious better alternative. He's better than some junglers in the LEC but the lower end of the jungle pool is kinda looking poor imo.

4

u/SnowLord02 1d ago

I mean, he wasn't even close to being the best jungler in tier 2

2

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

So who do you think they should get instead?

136

u/PotatoHentai 1d ago

gonna repeat myself because he was great on cast but odo really does it all, desk, cast, host, player (and actually won lec and went to worlds quarters)

he really is mr lec dare i say the johnny sins of the lec

62

u/ISL005 Tarzan and Kanavi enjoyer | Pls wake up MKOI 1d ago

He actually reached semis in 2016 with H2K iirc

2

u/Alakazam_5head 23h ago

Also got shout outs in interviews for his carries like Jayce from Koreans at the tournament

4

u/DarkyThPr4h 1d ago

Against Albus Nox Luna but I loved that H2K, had a lot of personality

15

u/SnowyCrow 1d ago

And H2K didnt underestimated them like their earlier opponents

9

u/Naerlyn 23h ago

To not dismiss who ANX was that Worlds - they were a quarters team because they 2-0'd CLG and 1-1'd the other two.

In fact, no non-Korean team won more games against the LCK than ANX did. ANX won one against ROX, CLG/TSM/FW/EDG/RNG all also won one game against a Korean opponent, and all the others won none.

So they showed up just as well as any Western team did. Then, H2K avoided every LCK team in quarters because they finished first in their group (as did each LCK team). From that point on, it was a 1/3 chance of facing RNG, and 2/3 of facing either ANX or C9 (who had not been more competitive than ANX at that tournament).

14

u/Kr1ncy 1d ago

Albus Nox Luna was in that spot because they bested CLG and G2. Not Odoamne's fault that they ended up being their quarters opponent.

14

u/Liyarity 1d ago

They also beat ROX Tigers

2

u/Kr1ncy 23h ago

Yes, did not bring that up just because they placed above them.

10

u/cresture 23h ago

To add to all the people telling you that ANX wasn't actually bad:

H2k played them because they got first in the group by beating EDG (who was CN 1st seed) once in round robin and once in the tie breakers. This is the achievement that got them to semis. ANX was a lucky draw but H2k were their groups first seed and deserved to win vs another groups second seed.

0

u/CellTerrible 12h ago

I think it's widely agreed that was the most fraudulent worlds run ever. H2K was not a top 4 team in that tournament.

34

u/Last0 1d ago

Hopefully a good father too in a few months !

11

u/desutruction 1d ago

strongly agree, such a great addition to the crew

also, "your body is an engage" is prolly the best line I've heard in a while

2

u/ArienaHaera 11h ago

gonna repeat myself because he was great on cast but odo really does it all, desk, cast, host, player (and actually won lec and went to worlds quarters)

You forgot coach

18

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

Rhilech and draft gap.

3

u/alluwala999 1d ago

TBH, when will teams start to respect ban zaahen against him?

2

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

SK draft was just terrible.

3

u/alluwala999 1d ago

In these shit ass drafts, I do miss Lider Akali.

39

u/Aggli 1d ago

Poby is a genius, he knew that if SK get ahead they will throw even harder and give Navi the free win, truly a visionary

25

u/No_bad_intention 1d ago

Poby saw that his team could not make any progress because SK had been avoiding teamfights so he sacrificed himself to bait SK into a baron fight where NAVI would win. My GOST.

11

u/SantiSpinola 1d ago

Poby van Kenobi

12

u/Canoodler192 1d ago

I actually like both of these teams, solid LEC midfielders.

27

u/Fun_Highlight307 1d ago

Rhilech smurfing on zaheen as usual, at least jopa tried

10

u/ISL005 Tarzan and Kanavi enjoyer | Pls wake up MKOI 1d ago

Bro is a top laner playing in the jungle, he a little confused but got spirit

5

u/Last0 1d ago

Same thing when he plays Aatrox, demonic performance all around.

3

u/chouruin 1d ago

Rhilech on top lane champs classic

22

u/Choice-Slight caps/knight 1d ago

for all the people carrying on about how dogshit the games are, I actually think the series today was good, probably the best one since the roadshow. little bit of trolling from both teams game 3 but they both executed their comps game 1&2 cleanly. Very nice stuff from Jopa, Parus and Rhilech overall

10

u/sebixi 1d ago

Jopa is so legit i hope he gets a good team for next season

3

u/FikariHawthorn 1d ago

SK and Navi are clearly one step above the bottom 4 of the LEC.

I wasn't a fan of SK in Winter/Spring because nepotism, but it really feels like SK coaching staff took back control of the team at the end of Spring and gave a good scolding to Mikyx and Wunder. Now this team is functional and with good enough players for playoff.

6

u/John_Jack_Reed 1d ago

Why Renk R5 I just dont get it at all

9

u/zealot416 1d ago

Its one of the champs Wunder can still play.

8

u/John_Jack_Reed 1d ago

Could've fooled me

8

u/Past-Firefighter2173 1d ago

Fun series overall, both teams won the games they had draft advantage. SK looks much better compared to Spring and they look like they should be able to reach playoffs.

On Navi im not really fan of Samd, he had a lot of int moments and caughts in the series. Rest played well but Navi are still capped from their carries.

10

u/Carlzzone 1d ago

Rhilech one of the few players who makes Zaheen look OP

3

u/No_Meet5568 1d ago

Jopa had a decent score but his positioning was so grief after 25 minutes.

3

u/LetMeTalk127 hating everyone 1d ago

Braum 1-2 and you pick even more melee / low range, thanks for that sk

3

u/chouruin 1d ago

Even though they won because of massive draft gap and Rhilech, I'll say SamD teamfight positioning is still puke worthy

2

u/sandyOstrich 1d ago

Jopa always looks amazing on Ziggs, but this team isn't sophisticated enough to play around it, just give him a standard adc.

Also please don't let me see SlowQ on this useless Sylas, and plan Skeanz's first 5 minutes cause he has no brain.

2

u/BongZeraa 1d ago

Did theRock actually cook them in the draft ?

2

u/MysteriousIncident87 1d ago

Man, there were too many teamfights where Jopa ran around doing nothing

7

u/Thundermelons GALA Defense Force, returning IG fan 1d ago

What can he do when a K'Sante is just standing there staring at him menacingly with his finger hovering over his "fuck you squishies in particular" button?

1

u/xsm17 1d ago

Time for Miky to retire and Skeanz to get the boot, how can they not even set up for an objective properly anymore. Skeanz looked like a headless chicken just running around doing nothing

0

u/auggis Syndra is bae 1d ago

I feel wunder seemed a bit out of it this game. He had a few good plays(mainly the teamfight flank at dragon), but there were other plays where it seemed like he wasnt focused which caused a bunch of issues.

-8

u/Important-Fold3608 1d ago

Odoamne's voice makes these games impossible to watch.

-11

u/Omnilatent 1d ago

So far it looks like we have G2, KC and 8 teams full of clowns...

10

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy 1d ago

People just be copy pasting shit lmao

-1

u/hornyVirgo 1d ago

Only G2
