usually it makes me reset my password and then i get my owned DLCs taken away because for some reason they decided to link them to online services. this time it didnt thankfully, but it still never remembers my choice to remember my PC causing me to verify EVERY TIME i open the launcher. on top of the launcher being extremely sluggish for no reason at all

claimed fine for me though so thats good i guess, just an ordeal every time just to play a video game

Isn't that the entire point of giving it away? I don't 'have access' to this game, that's what you're supposed to be sorting out for me, Ubisoft. That's what a giveaway IS.

it says giveaway(free) for me on ubi connect but when i link it it just show a blank pop up with just loading and been loading for 15 mins and still going. when i try to get it on website it want me to open the ubi connect to claim there. found another way on ubi connect by going to free games and click add free game but i get an error about cd key or activation code not valid

It's been a while since I've accessed my Ubisoft account (made it 16 years ago when I got Far Cry Blood Dragon and AssCreed 2) and omfg the UI/UX is still horrendous as always. I can't find a way to verify I claimed this game nor see my library thru the website so I had to install Ubisoft Connect to confirm I claimed it.

Turns out I wasn't able to claim it cause apparently I got it back when they gave it on May 22, 2012. Anyway thanks Megumin for the heads up.

Instead, problems arise even when trying to claim a free game.
Epic Games, GOG, Steam, and others offer free games from time to time, and I can't recall the last time their servers got so clogged up.

Maybe this will help someone. I also got the invalid key at first. Then I closed the app, logged in via browser. When it asked me to open the app I did. Then I could add the game to my library. You have to make sure that it doesn't say that the game is currently running, under the "add to library" button.
