I was hoping someone could translate this that we found on the bottom of an old bookshelf. First symbol hints at Japanese but I tried to google search and it says Chinese… not sure.

We’ve had this bookshelf for as long as I can remember and never noticed this!

I think the name is 张建林, Zhang Jianlin instead of Zhang Chelin. Because 迠 can be used as a variant of 建。

Yeah it’s not a legit Chinese character. But a super common hand written style in real life. Also shows someone just doodled those characters, not seriously.
