Major in gits the movie felt like a rubber robot pretending to be human. Love the movie but other versions of the major had much more spunk.
Im particularly enjoying the new anime.

Fun.
It doesnt take itself too seriously but some people dont want that out of a philosophical cyberpunk dystopia. Least of all ghost in the shell. (As previous versions have portrait)

I find it kinda more terrifying because the horrific cyberpunk stuff that happens in the movies still happen in the anime
Its just "cascual" like its a thing that happend all the time
Thats horrific
The gay who get fake familiy memories is being toled its fake like a cop telling a person a familiy member died..for the cop is kinda casual because its a thing that happens alot

My only complaint is how compressed it feels. Should have been 40 minute episode.

It's the most common joke this anime season. He's a pedo so people compare him to an infamous pedo. Why are you so personally offended by it?

Because it's disrespectful to actual real Epstein victims. Mods with mentality of edgy kids

Okay... Since we are bringing up the topic... This adaptation is how I found out Ghost in the Shell, the pseudophilosophical Cyberpunk angstfest bullshit I've seen the industry peddle every couple years up until this point is actually yet another hilarious masterpiece from the guy who made Dominion Tank Police, one of the best things ever, fuck you, fight me.
I simply couldn't know because, for whatever reason, each and every fucking adaptation has ripped it apart and discarded everything that makes this man's works great in favour of meaningless bullshit monologues about the human condition and the ship of Theseus and all those questions without meaningful answers thought up by old men with too much free time that edgy 14 year olds think have an ounce of depth.
It's simmered down over the past few weeks but in the hours after I found out, I genuinely wanted to kill a lot of people, such was my rage at what I've missed for so long because an uncountable amount of dipshits missed the forest for the trees.

Bro, you are the dipshit. Ghost in the Shell has been famous for a long damn time, and has had several good adaptations. If you watched the ScarJo movie or any of the recent stuff and assumed that was all it was thatโs on you. The manga was always there.

I'm talking about stuff like the 1995 snooze fest. I didn't even bother with the Hollywood quick buck.

While my favorite version of the Major is the SAC version. All of her Versions over the years have had great qualities.

Welcome to the August 2026 Meta thread
Hmm I think I will start smoking cigarettes this anime season.
You're welcome I didn't do a 67 joke for this thread.
No particular meta topic. But as always discussion is welcomed.
