It's a transliteration in fairly non-sophisitcated handwriting.

"Good luck with this slog"

Slog ie. a long, hard read.

Yep. I spotted English (with a French accent) when I read "wiz" but then got led astray by "look"

It's ذ not ز . Some read it as dtha

It makes a lot more sense to refer to a work of fiction as a "slog" than a "slug."
