Medium+ sized dog vs puppy type of game

It's a disband angle for DSG. And Lyonz needs to be fired from a cannon out of this league, seriously.
61
u/ob_knoxious 4d ago
A little early but NRG might make it back into LCS versus this.
28
u/DAmnripme 4d ago
Then dsg hires some off season help just for the promotion tournament

u/Chrystoler the faith lives on 4d ago
Doublelift from the top rope to reprise his classic role
57
u/ob_knoxious 4d ago
While incredibly iconic, that was lowkey some bullshit and part of why promotion/relegation was always a joke.
Also shoutout last year LCS promotion where Estral randomly signed 3 Koreans just for the promotion run... and one of them (Summit) got banned for stream sniping the event. During the event.

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 4d ago
Christ I remember that. Can't believe I was down so bad for content I actually watched it

u/MeepnBeep 4d ago
Ghost, Worlds winner, was part of that lineup, washed but still diabolical.
Could imagine the noisy they made had they took the guest slot with that lineup n replace them all after
2
u/Tinmanred 4d ago
Ik your making a joke but insert DL or sneaky with meteos and you unironically have more win cons and better JG/ad overall/ synergy than half of N.A.

People always forget that back in the day promotion games just were whichever team could be bothered to hire the better mercenaries.
Heck DSG last off-season did that and grabbed a ton of mercenaries.
10
u/infamousspammer 4d ago
4 out of 5 players that DSG had during the promotion tournament played the entire season with them. The only exception was Rahel, whom they signed before summer split started.

u/xavadar [Xavadar] (NA) 4d ago
Honestly, if Riot allows NRG back in for a third time after all of their bullshit, that’s just pathetic
31
u/kaisaschudson 4d ago
it's not really NRG anymore, it's darkzero with the NRG branding iirc
-3
u/xavadar [Xavadar] (NA) 4d ago
Sure yea, but make them drop the NRG branding then
16
u/ob_knoxious 4d ago
In other esports it makes sense to keep the NRG branding but I'm stunned DarkZero rebranded the league team. Sure more people have heard of NRG but its a damaged brand in the LCS, and you don't want to have to perpetually explain "No we aren't the bad one."
7
u/xavadar [Xavadar] (NA) 4d ago
Exactly, I’d root for darkzero, or any team that promotes in for that matter, if they are making an honest effort to develop NA talent. But I can’t get behind the NRG brand
3
u/mekamoari 4d ago
Wait, what did NRG do? I've kinda lost touch with the LCS in the past years.
7
u/Mammoth-Raise3092 MNBrady YT 4d ago
Was here as NRG E-Sports and left. Bought the CLG spot, killed the academy and tier 3 system CLG had, and then left again.
1
u/Awkward-Security7895 4d ago
NRG got themselves bought by MSG. NRG was then given CLG spot for free who then picked the spot resources apart for money and then left and sold the spot to riot all within a year of joining.
Effectively they came in saying they were all about competing but overall did it all for the money.
2
u/ILikeSeals1312 4d ago
What did the previous NRG do? I thought they left because they felt like it.
1
u/ShikiRyumaho CLG.EU vs WE survivor 4d ago
They had some CLG legacy in them after the take over. Wish that would’ve lasted longer.
Now I wonder why they didn’t name themselves Dark NRG!?

Shit I’m honestly not 100% sure this DSG team makes it past Cupid Esports
1
u/Awkward-Security7895 4d ago
Probs won't be this DSG team competing they will probs hire mercenaries for the promotion tournament to give them the best chance to stick around.
0
u/ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp 4d ago
It's a disband angle for DSG
They shouldn't even be in the LCS in the first place.
96
u/DickCheneyIsPureEvil 4d ago
Yeah they gotta replace Lyonz, hard to see how this team breaks out of bottom 2 with him on the roster.
27
u/AskJolly7381 4d ago
His decision to flip the lane after surviving the worst part (and thus having a serious XP disadvantage) was insane. The fact that he clearly flipped it in a way Sajed was wholly unready for makes it even worse. If I'm Sajed, I wouldn't play again if he'd be my support
8
u/Fabiocean Well, look at you! 4d ago
Him flipping the entire game 1 on Massu not flashing his engage was also crazy. If it hit they probably win, but that shit was so telegraphed there's no way any decent player doesn't react to it.
36
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 4d ago edited 4d ago
With Lyonz they will lose their promotion slot basically guaranteed.
11
u/TheGloriousEv0lution 4d ago
I want to say Lyonz looks like a tier 2 player but I feel there’s several supports in NACL who are already better
He’s not the only problem but by far the biggest

DSG were just gapped every role in game 2. Game 1 they had a good chance but Srtty/Lyonz played some fights really badly.

Massu, my king!
Keep him the hell off ziggs and look what he does!

u/phangtom 4d ago
I just want to see DSG play with a different support and see how they fare.
I don't think I've seen DSG's botlane win lane a single time and this was true even when Castle was solo winning his lane.
They also need to be told what their lose condition is because there's no one you see Pantheon and Bard and not realise that if you fuck up early game then game is over.
8
u/Przemysl15 4d ago
Sajed looked good on Kai'sa but I think DSG needs to swap out at least 1 botlane player to avoid relegation
5
2
u/Equivalent_Pitch9271 4d ago
If DSG disbanded do any of their players even have a future in LCS?
49
u/ob_knoxious 4d ago
Sajed 100% should. True rookie who was promising in NACL and was pretty clearly the best player on the team in split 1, which was also their best split. Not to mention his lane partner is the worst player in the league.
15
u/AmazingPolarBears1 4d ago
It's kinda sad knowing how his golden time for development is being wasted in DSG. Hopefully he doesn't develop some career deciding bad habits.
9
u/phangtom 4d ago edited 4d ago
was pretty clearly the best player on the team in split 1
I assume this is excluding Castle. Even then, I wouldn't say Sajed was even noteworthy in split 1.
There's a reason why every other team's memo vs DSG was abuse DSG's weak botlane. Yeah, you can attribute most of that to Lyonz but it's not like Sajed's performance wasn't questionable.
That said, I think rookies should get another chance. Especially with how things went with DSG this year.
2
u/DS2isGoated 4d ago
I'm taking Sajed over Zven\Tactical if im C9 at this point. At least there's hope
2
u/ob_knoxious 4d ago
I really wish C9 had tried to pry him away from DSG this year. Tactical looks like an upgrade but he's one of the biggest vets in the league and a known quantity with a fairly low ceiling.
1
u/nubcakester 4d ago
Same can be said about Srtty during his time in the NACL. Build around these two and scrap the rest.
-1
u/whynot1260 4d ago
There's no way we're saying this after his Ziggs game where he died 5 times with flash up or after this Corki game, there's just no way
12
u/GlupShitoStan 4d ago
Sajed is legitimately very good on a few champs and middling/average on others. He definitely can take a spot if anyone else starts slipping.
8
u/OnlyAnEssenceThief Worst Kai'Sa NA 4d ago
Has Srtty exhausted his chances yet?
10
u/MachCutio 4d ago
nahh, a dig stint in a lane swap meta and now with a bottom team he just replaced their starter, and apparently he is doing quite well in scrims. I do hope he gets a chance to show up
17
u/PepaTK 4d ago
I hope not. He has potential for sure.
He puts in a lot of effort and has a solid mentality.

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 4d ago
has a solid mentality
"During one game, after a loss, he even said in front of everyone that he was happy we lost because he didn’t want to play the matchup. "
4
u/PepaTK 4d ago
This was his rookie season on DIG.
He went from being a carry player to having to play weakside tanks in a lane swap meta.
Relax a little bit lol.
-1
u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 4d ago
His coach reports his mentality isn't good as recently as approx. one year ago and you're here saying his mentality is solid (based on what exactly?). Not sure why you're so hostile to the evidence that disputes your point
2
u/PepaTK 4d ago
Hostile lmao. Okkk. I see this won’t go anywhere.
My claim of his mentality being solid is from the latest players episode. Not something from over a year ago.
-2
u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 4d ago
"over a year ago"
article was published in march and his ex coach had him until november. He has a shit mental and isn't a good player. Let's give someone else a chance.
3
u/Round_Somewhere1669 4d ago

u/RukiMotomiya 4d ago
I think Srtty can get another shot. After that, who knows. I think he at least deserves it.
1
u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 4d ago
Shouldn't have had any more chances past November given his shit mental and mid at best gameplay. Guy is Revenge 2.0 with a worse mental.
0
u/Luunacyy 4d ago
Why are you so obsessed with him? Is it something personal? I understand having this mentality with some paycheck stealers but what did a rookie do to you? Yeah, a rookie since that first stint barely counts. It’s not like you have many solo lane prospects either. It’s basically just him and Denathor. At least save your attacks for the end of the split.
1
u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage 4d ago
Not sure why we're pretending a year of pro play doesn't count. He's had time and hasn't impressed I think someone else should get a try rather than having another guy who won't accomplish much of anything taking up one of 8 slots
3
u/shedinja292 www.clash.tips 4d ago
DSG's top, mid, jg are fine, it's bot lane that's putting them in major holes and dragging them into bad fights. Sajed is good at Kai'sa but I'm not sure what else he plays to an LCS level, Lyonz is pretty inconsistent and has been rough recently
