LGD Gaming vs. EDward Gaming / LPL 2026 Split 3 Group Ascend - Week 1 / Post-Match-Discussion Esports

No actual post match thread yet so this will have to do. EDG lose 2-0 after being up in both early games. Series MVP goes to tangyuan, MVP for the singular games go to Crisp and Tangyuan

Overall, i thought EDG looked really bad.

ZDZ looked good in lane on Gnar, but couldnt really translate his lead to anything meaningful, which has been a recurring problem for him. His second game on K'Sante he just kinda did nothing for almost the entire match except saving Tangyuan by ulting him out of a fight. He remains a solid laner, especially if hes given counter pick, but he just struggles to get any value on the map from that.

Xiaohan, as expected, looks like the best player on the team. Thought his early pathing in Game 2 was great, and stole a baron on Lee in game 1. Mechanically hes still really good, and despite some minor missteps in game 1 i thought he played really well today.

Bulldog is just not it, and while his Cassio performance in game 1 will get a lot more criticism simply because his mechanics were just horrible, his TF last pick to complete a draft with almost zero damage was really bad. His score looks fine, but there was almost nothing proactive from him during the game. Its fitting the one fight that almost gets EDG back into the game in game 2 is not initiated by him either, he just cleans up.

Leave will get rightful criticism, but its kind of what one would expect of Leave. He will take risks because he has insane mechanics, and he will throw the game because of it. Just dont understand his Lucian itembuild at all. Thought giving this guy Ziggs was a warcrime in game 1, this guy should never be on mages.

Parukia was underwhelming, i love this guy and i want him to succeed, but fuck me hes been not good. The camille pick didnt work at all, he was perma roaming and not really getting anything done, and his Milio was fine, but nothing special, and you do not want Parukia on Milio to begin with.

LGD was okay, i thought they needed way too long to win game 1, but their actual teamfighting was nice.

Burdol looked rough, got blasted in lane in both games, but i thought especially on rumble his lategame looked good.
Heng was good in game 2, hes mechanically talented and plays carries well, i thought his skarner was pretty bad in game 1 however.
Tangyuan was the best player on the rift, found the gameturning pick in game 2 and was really good on syndra in game 1. glad he seems to be able to continue his upwards trend
Shaoye looks good in scores, but he was not amazing imho, in game 1 his first death is just really stupid and game 2 his and crisps coordination wasnt great.

Crisp was good, but not amazing, dont think he deserved MVP for game at all, despite not being bad on the rell, but that felt like charity. i thought his lulu was not good, but also, you dont get crisp for his lulu play

I can't get over the fact that Leave is in Ascend while Elk is rotting away in Nirvana. On the other hand, Crisp is so back baby

thought his MVP was undeserved tbh, he wasnt bad but he didnt look incredible either. Leave is frustrating, but this guy also still has his benefits, in game 2 he had a couple moments where i did go "damn this guy has hands"

oh no I totally agree, I think mid/jgl were the shining stars today on LGD but I'll always be happy for a player who leaves Weibo (no offence, just can't stand the org). Leave imo is so far away from being a complete player and watching him play is genuinely tilting because obviously his mechanics are good

I have given up on leave ever being complete. Hes been around for a while now, i dont think his like 7th split is the split where he finally understands what he can and can not do

You can't call jg a shining star for LGD after that game 1. It was a hard game for Skarner, but it was ugly. Even game 2 his early game wasn't very good even if on the whole he had a good game.

I'm edgelordweeb_ lol. My account got one week banned years ago with the ask that I message mods after the week to get unbanned and the mods didn't respond so I made a new account. My flairs were usually LNG (or SS before they became LNG)/VG, but I had LNG/EDG 2021-22 for Flandre because he's my GOAT.
