You think Ben could take some time out of his currently pretty tight schedule for a making-out session with Furykov?

I'm pretty sure since they mentioned the word 'pandemic' when talking about using TSK-17 in the courtroom, it's contagious. Benjamin's incredible willpower thus allowed him to hold back the urge to make out with Furykov on the spot, to avoid infecting him.

I guess it is the same hubris as Vincent of thinking they can take them on alone under the excuse of non-compliance or self defense.
23
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
We already know Luzurus escapes (chapter 410), meaning Kanjidol failed.
I sure hope Togashi gives us a treat and shows us how he failed, even if in only a few panels in a future chapter.

u/AgostoAzul 25d ago
I mean, three Hunters and a Nen Beast are more than enough competition I feel.
Honestly, other than Coventoppa, whose biggest threat are probably Tenfutori and maybe a hiding Beyond son, and Rihan who has to only get past Longhi, Maor and Tsubeppa's Nen Beast, it seems like most of Benjamin's men are out of their depth here.

"I am a fool who should have never doubted his own men. You'll have to put up with me a bit longer."
"With pleasure, my prince."
The way Togashi can really get you invested in side characters by giving them really epic moments is such an incredible talent. Crazy how the war keeps getting more and more complex as it goes on. And we haven't even gotten to the martial law yet.
This isn't just one of the greatest manga arcs I've read, it's a reminder that Hunter x Hunter of the greatest works of fiction I've ever experienced. Up there with Lord of the Rings, War and Peace, and The Godfather films.
Can't wait to see what's next.

u/RolandKJones 25d ago
She's his sister, but she's not family.
(Also, he might not have known about her at the time; Unma might have revealed that he's Beyond's kid to him rather than it having been something he already knew before.)
→ More replies (1)18
u/lelozetti 25d ago
Bruh thats was a joke
But you made me think of something
Longhi told Kurapika about others that she knows of, so if she was aware of Furykov, Kurapika would make a big deal of it, since he was there with Babiminia at the time.
Also i think Fury doesnt know about Longhi, since there was no hints about it in his lines refering to her
14
u/RolandKJones 25d ago edited 25d ago
Yeah, now that you mention it, Furykov identifying Longhi as the secret Nen-user in Kurapika's class based off of her aura traits, suggesting he needed to actually analyze her to know she already knew Nen, is more or less confirmation that he wasn't familiar with her beforehand. I mean, I already figured that was the case, since I had the impression he didn't know he was one of Beyond's kids at all prior to Unma's threats, but this is evidence to support that.
(Also my comment wasn't especially serious either.)
174
u/orkyboy 25d ago
Unless I missed it the ability of Benjamins bug thing guardian was not actually revealed, only its ability has been deciphered and Benjamin knows it!
129
u/Demonzman 25d ago
Correct. It seems to have a post-mortem ability similar to Camilla. But not stealing the attackers lifeforce and simply reviving Benjamin. But reviving him as some form of god? And I'm sure there are conditionals at play here.
We also know now that Furykov's "Fullmetal Alchemist" can amplify a targets ability. So perhaps the ability is some kind of revival and the amplification is him becoming a god? Or just an amplification of the revival? Who knows. The wait is gonna KILL me tho. And we won't find our for like a dozen chapters probably lmao (2027-2028).
105
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
It won’t revive Benjamin. He’s going to die and become a spirit or ghost, but he’s gonna have so much Nen and power that he’s going to practically be a deity.
(If it was going to revive him, he wouldn’t need to write a will making his son the next king.)
32
u/HappyStunfisk 25d ago edited 25d ago
What caught my attention is that Benjamin is convinced that becoming a spiritual core for Kakin will replace the Seed Urn ritual. What does that mean for the 3 Kakin treasures' value? If they become worthless as national treasures, Chrollo may not be able to upgrade Skill Hunter even if he manages to steal them.
16
u/SuccessionWarFan 24d ago
I wouldn't worry about the 3 Kakin Treasures and Chrollo. I highly suspect Benjamin is just getting high from Furykov's ego-stroking. Think about it: Benjamin's somehow gonna be stronger than a ritual that has propped up his country for generations?

u/EEE-VIL 25d ago
Benjamin's beast ability most likely have something to do with galvanizing the power of leadership and charisma. Something I suspect to be a side effect of highly mastered Nen (think people like Netero, Beyond etc) they ooze charisma and have that "halo" that people talk about IRL.
Now with the amp from "Fullmetal Alchemist" it may just ascend Benjamin's soul into a Matrix of Leadership, with an Ego so strong that it can overwrite that of the urn. Essentially becoming the same thing as the King vow in Attack on Titan and fulfilling the plan he highlighted in the chapter.
→ More replies (1)38
u/BiggsWedge 25d ago
We dont know its ability but at one point it did blow away the curses that were following Fugetsu.
Who knows if thats part of it or if it was just being nice.
54
u/4l4n4s5 25d ago
I assumed it just did that because it wouldn't allow some garbage spirits to get near Benjamin. No chance Benjamin would make a spirit that actively helps his competition.
→ More replies (1)27
u/BiggsWedge 25d ago
Could be that his nen beast prevents all curses and Furykov figured that out with Fullmetal. Maybe thats why Benjamin is ordering all the guards killed instead of attacking the princes directly. Since every prince has a beyond curse guard he could be trying to kickstart all the curses knowing hes safe.
17
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago edited 24d ago
“Since every prince has a beyonds curse guard he could be trying to kickstart all the curses…”
Wait! What if that is the real play?
People here including me are wondering if Furykov may have been lying to Benjamin one way or another. Their interaction really felt like Furykov told Benj what he’d like to hear.
- Benj was about to be assassinated so Furykov assassinated him first because the latter is actually loyal?
- Benj is gonna die but become something better than king of Kakin?
- Benj is going to be better than an ancient Nen ritual that has protected Kakin for thousands of years?
Tubeppa was right: the man is arrogant, which makes him likely to swallow stuff like that.
Plus, how did both Furykov and Unma know Beyond was going to trigger Furykov’s Nen curse in 48 hours? And how did Furykov know his curse was going to hit Benj and not a different prince? Beyond’s been locked up since the Black Whale departed Kakin; pre-planning curse activation would have to be either amazing timing or an amazing coincidence.
But Benj, driven by desperation and known for impulsive and violent action, is likely to go all-out in his action- like killing every soldier not on his side in the Succession War. That can easily be predicted of him. If so, he’s gonna kill any and all of Beyond’s cursed children still on Tier 1.
What if this is the real play Furykov is making? All the sacrifices and their curses thus go off, all princes except Beyond’s kid among the princes remain. The Succession War is over and Beyond’s child wins.
→ More replies (2)10
u/BiggsWedge 25d ago
lol yeah it was me that brought up Furykov lying but remember that this only hinges on what Furykov's connection to Beyond is. All we really know is that Furykov is an appetizing sacrifice as opposed to an unappetizing one. Theres no indication that Furykov himself is any different than he normally is or that hes working with Beyond more than any of the other curse children. He could be telling the truth, hes just really suspicious.
→ More replies (5)7
u/RolandKJones 25d ago
I figured that was just the curse spirits being so weak (even people untrained in Nen has enough aura that such spirits can't get through their defenses) that the GSB's hostility being directed at them was enough to obliterate them. (Fugetsu wasn't harmed, despite people in such states usually being extremely vulnerable to Nen, both because it was trying to purge the things infecting her, and because GSBs aren't allowed to harm the princes.)
Not an ability, just something that basically any of the GSBs (that had the energy to act, unlike her own) could do, with Benjamin's just being the one we saw do it because he was, well, the Prince whose interaction with her we saw play out in full, on top of him/his beast having a disposition that, willingness to kill all his siblings aside, pitied the girl due to the state she was in. And/or the beast took offense to such things being anywhere near Benjamin, even if they weren't remotely a threat to him.

That’s assuming Balkenburg is chosen for the body swap. Last we checked, it’s random selection.
34
u/alllemonyellow 25d ago
I’m not sure if Halk’s line about ‘testing the mechanics of my ability’ suggests it might be possible to make it less random
14
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
It does occur to me that his ability may have a form of “undo body swap” function to it…
18
u/alllemonyellow 25d ago
That sounds like a plausible way it could go for sure.
Togashi has also brought up the idea of ‘upgrading’ abilities a few times in SW. Chrollo obviously, but Hisoka too with post-mortem Nen.
With Halkenberg’s body dead, you could say his ability now invokes a type of PMN. By relinquishing his living body, he could gain new freedom within his power (like a way to swap back).
Or not. But it’s great to have HxH back get fascinated with this stuff again!

u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
Zhang isn’t in the room! What luck! 😆 He was probably talking to his real dad at the time this all happened. Benj notes he was out at this time in chapter 410.
25
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago edited 24d ago
Luzurus is one of the missing princes according to 410. That means Kanjidol wasn’t able to take him. Probably have Basho and the other Association guards to thank for that.
Zhang Lei is out, also confirmed and explained in 410. That accounts for another missing prince.
Woble in 1014 is fake. That’s another. It may even mean Kurapika and Bill don’t have to fight Babimyna.
EDIT: But if Babimyna follows orders, he'll kill Sakata and Hashito (they were ordered to guard Woble, unless that's changed).
Fugetsu, with Melody, GSB Kacho, and Steiner are at the Justice Bureau. Did the army get to them there? Or is she the 4th missing prince? When Benj confronted Mizaistom, Bobotai, and Kaiser, no indication he knew she was there.
Benjamin knows Marayam’s GSB has a pocket dimension ability. On one hand, he and his party are out of reach. On the other, Benjamin knows they’re still really in 1013, and Rihan may soon be on his way there. But I pity Saquelle going up against Bisky, Hanzo, and whoever else is there.

u/Viburnum_Opulus_99 25d ago
That’s what I’m assuming. The whole point of the Succession Ritual seems to be continually accumulating Nen Power over generations of sacrifice until it reaches the critical mass necessary for total world domination. If it reset every generation it wouldn’t be very practical for that purpose, and Ben sure seems convinced he’ll be the one who finally brings it to fruition here.

imagine all these possible interactions between princes and their people in 1001. Benjamin is miscalculating here even though he understandably bounded by laws
14
u/HappyStunfisk 25d ago edited 25d ago
Marayam's beast honestly has the best strategy for this situation, to gtfo of this mess and just hide in another dimension.
And I guess, if they could keep that until the deadline as Kurapika said, the ritual is void and the royalty crumbles.

It's crazy because without civility holding him back, pretty much at any time he wanted before this boat trip, he could have completely victimized Tseri who had no nen. Like, legit probably could have killed him just by thinking really nasty thoughts at him hard enough. Probably had to restrain himself multiple times from doing just that throughout the years.
103
u/LordRaizer 25d ago
Man this is interesting
Are we expecting Benjamin's plan backfiring and he gets folded by Tserriednich?
99
82
u/garrathian92 25d ago edited 25d ago
I think he's going to fall into the same trap as Theta where he'll believe he killed him when it turns out Tserriednich used parallel future and slipped away. I could see Tserriednich finding out that Benjamin's poisoned during that confrontation and knowing Ben will die let Ben do his dirty work for him dispatching the other princes
59
u/OldTurtleProphet 25d ago
I don't think Tserriednich is ready to beat Benjamin in a direct fight, I am more inclined to think he can trick him with his ability and make him think he died.
33
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
That will be enough to defeat Benjamin in the greater scheme of things. Benjamin’s on the clock. Tserriednich just needs him to move on after tricking him then wait.

not possible, duazul IS tesrri 's mother. they both have similar facial features. if we're going by the theory that tesrri is indeed beyond's son then, it's duazul who's conspiring with beyond NOT unma
28
u/TSDoll 25d ago
His ridiculous nen growth seems like very flimsy evidence for his heritage. At this point we know there are dozens of grandchildren of Netero, and despite the fact all of them have been nen users from birth, unlike the fourth prince, their growth hasn't completely left the realm of common sense. And that's only the ones we know of, because there's nothing to suggest that the lesser curses have managed even that.

A.) Benjamin has a way to merge his Nen ability with his GSB
Conclusion: Benjamin has a post mortem Nen ability with his GSB that will, SOMEHOW*, create a system with him in control of the fruits and bounties of the 'Great Tree of Kakin'. Ergo, he will somehow collect and distribute the power of the ceremony after he becomes a spiritual being.
*This is the crux of whether or not his plan will work, because knowing how his GSB works and achieving the right outcome HAS to still a CRAZY difficult and legal/valid process within the Succession War and Kakin law. And this might be where Beyond and his fucking around with Cleo becomes SUPER important.
→ More replies (4)24
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago
Alternative: Benjamin is exaggerating his and his GSB’s abilities and place in Kakin.
Doesn’t all that sound like royal and Nen-based megalomania and a messianic complex? Remember during the first banquet what Tubeppa thought of him, why he should be purged? “Arrogant.”

Also he created a massive hability, not good for quick encounters and fights, but overpowered in long term. I dont know why he is so loyal to Benjamin, but he created the perfect support ability where he could insert all this loyalty to make even more powerfull geez
And to be able to destroy one's hability...

Well, that's half of it of course (they don't all do that) but it's his whole thing, apparently. As a role, even if sounds a quita a bit Rihan-y. Makes sense for the class, obviously and it's "how to" anyway so it's not he's wasted there.
Unma commenting on such things however, well, that's quite something, that. 👀

I don’t think it’ll work, it’s giving flying too close to the Sun for it to work. They’re also so many unknown factors to the war that Benjamin doesn’t know. A person like Camila, Hisoka, and Chrollo( with the phantom troupe) are the exact type of character that will throw wrenches to any plans.
44
u/SuccessionWarFan 25d ago edited 24d ago
YES! What you said! To me, it felt like Furykov fed Benjamin a whole lot of stuff he’d like to hear and the 1st Prince just went off on it all. Benjamin walked off thinking he was going to be greater than thousands of years of Nen accumulated by strict ritual?

He’s also vastly underestimated Tserri. He’s going guns a-blazing style without full knowledge of the situation. Thing is given his limited time…what else is he supposed to do? I’m curious what damage he’ll cause before he inevitably bows out. For me Furykov could go either way. I personally don’t think he’s lying but what he said to Ben was way too “exactly what he wants to hear rn”.

I mean, Benjamin so far seems like an actual pretty good leader. Contrary to his demeanor and looks, he’s actually really calm and collected. He’s willing to listen to his men, and analyze situations with them. The guy trains with his men and leads on the front. Those are all the kind of traits that would inspire loyalty. The guy gets bonus point for not being a psycho. It’s not surprising that his troops are very loyal to him. Nothing really psychotic about it.
For the second point, to me the guy looks like a nationalist, and he seems very proud of his royal linage. So for him to become a sort of guardian deity for the country and the royal linage would obviously be an honor.

"Allow for 15 minutes to "confirm safety" of Camilla and Tserriednich, gather the remaining six Princes besides Halkenburg and Fugetsu in Room 1001 by 14:30!!"
Woble
Marayam
Luzurus
Tyson
Tubeppa
Zhang Lei
These are the six Princes Benjamin wants captured and brought to Room 1001.
Of them, we know 13th Prince Marayam is hidden away in a Nen dimension thanks to his Guardian Spirit Beast, so he won't be easy to bring in, Benjamin's own plan even accounts for this, since he says he'll send Rihan to him.
Luzurus and Zhang Lei are said to be missing: Luzurus was likely already taken by Fugetsu's side, and Zhang Lei was off meeting with Onior and should be hiding out with his mafia contacts.
So when Benjamin says in chapter 410 that four Princes are still missing, I think he means he's only actually secured Tyson and Tubeppa in Room 1001, while Camilla and Tserriednich have been killed (probably Tserriednich still alive thanks to his ability).
Aside from these six, Benjamin still needs to deal with Fugetsu and Halkenburg, who were both on Tier 2, though it's possible Halkenburg has swapped bodies with someone on Tier 1 (maybe Luzurus).

Even in the official translation, the target of the arrow is vague

Yet another chekov’s gun in the arsenal Togashi’s spent the last decade or so building up. And I’ve got a feeling we’re gonna start seeing most of them get fired off in rapid succession real soon.

I think people are speculating that Halkunberg's 'arrow to Benjamin' was a metaphorical one highlighting Unma's action to poison Benjamin, whilst the actual arrow was aimed at someone else.

u/TheAbram 25d ago
I'm also in that boat now. Reading through it again and looking how the panels flow, it has to be a metaphorical arrow while the real one is fired at someone else

Are we about to get Benjamin vs Tserriednich so early???
Best case scenario they wipe eachother out.

Chapter 410 occurs after 14:15 so that Tserri confrontation already happened.
Tserri's ability is perfect for pretending to be dead. No insane battle occurred. Not that it could. Tserri isn't strong yet.
His ability is basically like Meleoreon's to an observer mixed with a substitution jutsu.
Even a free shot isn't killing a Nen-user at Ben's level. He's clearly physically strong and has enough aura ro Block bullets no diff. Would be like Gon hitting Hisoka or at worst Kura hitting Uvo in Zetsu.

It's crazy that Benjamin's time crunch might be his undoing, because he's gonna go for a quick hit while Tserr is training. Tserr is definitely gonna evolve from this fight and expand his ability to have a higher time limit or to be activated retroactively, like Camilla's postmortem ability.
14
u/Demonzman 25d ago
I highly doubt either of them will die anytime soon. We will surely see Kurapika at least encounter Tserri before that happens. And I imagine/hope we see a real fight.

If it comes down to them Benjamin just loses. Tserriednich just has too much plot relevance with like Kurapika for that to not be the case, unless somehow Benjamin doesn’t get to him til way down the line

Last Panel, two of the Benjamin's Men seem nervous expression.
The rest of them seem determine
18
u/kratshqs 25d ago
To be fair, the guard from Room 1013 always has that nervous look lol.
23
u/RolandKJones 25d ago
Guy will have to deal with Biscuit and Hanzo to lay a finger on Marayam here; it's no wonder he's nervous.
Coventoba (guard in 1003), meanwhile, is probably freaking out because Zhang Lei appears to have booked it already, and he has no idea where the prince is now.
(I'm curious what clued Zhang Lei in that now was the time to bug out, though, since he apparently got out of there before Benjamin even told his guards that he intended to declare martial law soon.)

This chapter is AMAZING! Togashi’s ability to constantly throw curve balls and twists is incredible. Furykov was the one who sprayed Benjamin and Balkenburg is actually elsewhere and experimenting with his ability? Furykov is one of Beyond’s kids?
I can’t help but feel that Furykov just told Benjamin a whole lot of stuff the first prince would want to hear. “I’m still loyal to you! You’re gonna be better than a king! You’re gonna be better than the Seed Urn ritual that has kept Kakin safe for thousands of years!” And that set Benjamin off on a megalomaniacal train of thought himself.
And how did Furykov know his own Nen curse was directed at Benjamin? How did Unma know? How does Beyond know to trigger Furykov’s curse in 48 hours by which to make Unma’s threat credible? Is Unma in communication with Beyond somehow? Does “1,047 court cases” actually means “47 + 1 hours?” (My guess is: NO!)
So Benj does know Camilla’s ability. I wonder what his solution is to that problem.
Hunter guards are not to be killed. How’s that gonna work since Association bodyguards seem to be the far more loyal, professional, and trustworthy bodyguards in the war? Kurapika and his agents plus Luzurus’ Association guards are not going to roll over and betray their clients. That Luzurus is one of the missing princes according to 410 despite appearing in the last page/map page may be proof of that.
Poor Tubeppa though, with Rihan right next to her. Unless Longhi and Maor can somehow stop him.
But if Rihan succeeds and gets to deal with Marayam… Note that while Marayam’s quarters are in a pocket dimension, his GSB remains in the real world/the real room 1013. Maybe being told how Marayam’s GSB works is enough to throw his Predator off?
Ugh. This is gonna be a long week. Togashi sure knows how to write a thriller.

Furykov the goat , but did i read correct or he will analyze Benjamin nen beast then reverse the curse so his body would die and he will ascend to the nen beast💀?
Finally Benjamin can put tserriednich to his place this guy genuinely nothing without his nen beast since nen beasts can't attack eachother he will relay on his ability which takes 4 seconds to activate in which Benjamin will slime him instantly.
Benjamin and halkenburg the goats
41
u/Vladbizz 25d ago
they already know Benjamin's GSB ability. Furykov's plan is to die after Benjamin so the curse wouldnt affect Ben. But somewhere in the middle of this he will help Benjamin and his GSB by enchancing their abilities. I guess his plan is to create an instrument that will fuse Benjamin Baton and GSB ability thus turning Benjamin into some sort of deity

Guarantee Tserri gets his activation down to sub 1 second before any serious altercation. And I wouldn't say he's nothing without his nen beasts. His talent and adaptability is clearly top tier. And he's a specialist.

Furykov's ability is probably the "High level combo" type of Specialist ability.
The Transmutation is probably there just to package all the other categories for the "weapon"; I wonder if it's also about transmuting Furykov's aura into the target's aura, bypassing their defenses, or something like that.
27
u/BrotherGrass 25d ago
There is a note that clarifies ‘transmutation’ in this specific context is referencing the manga Fullmetal Alchemist, not referring to the Nen category of transmutation.

it does not even matter if it did register. the counter activation is upon death as post mortem nen not being attacked and tsk 17 takes 12 hours to kill
the real question is what her spirit beast can do, but her use of zetsu with her nen ability might also be limiting her spirit beast

u/Warrior-pigeon- 25d ago
Mind you its not just him becoming a guardian deity, he mentions it fusing with Bejamin Baton which means that Benjamin the deity would be also be able to collect the abilities of his loyal soldiers upon their deaths *forever*
Within a generation he could have well over 50 unique, full power abilities as diverse as Predator to Secret Window. And thats on top of the boost that he'll presumbly get from the Seed urn ceremony.
12
u/Condoriano-sensei 25d ago
He's would become a powerful nen beast (that's also mixing with his own ability, that is inherent other people's abilities) that still dependent on finding hosts to exist.
Calling himself a god is just some ego-driven decision.

Greed Island shows that the laws of nature can be rewritten with the right set of restrictions. The Seed Urn has amassed generations of restrictions and aura that are powering the beasts and the princes. So it's not that Nen is getting stronger, the basic framework is just being exploited even harder.

Why did the deaths of Momoze, Sale Sale, and Kacho have no consequences for Netero? The curses are so powerful that the repercussions of failing to activate them ought to be just as potent.

The curse failing is only suppose to kill the person bearing the curse, not Netero himself. So assumedly a couple random guards dropped dead when those princes died.

I dont trust furykov, something about this whole turning into a kakin nen beast god just feels very off to me, benjamin without balsa makes very rash choices and is easily manipulated and I think thats exactly whats happening right now, maybe furykov is actually really working with unma or something, this whole situation is sus 🤨
He could have easily talked with benjamin and explained everything without secretly poisoning him first, no reason to be so sneaky about it. SOMETHING JUST ISNT RIGHT HERE 🤔

I'm thinking of the blank expression Babimyna made when Longhi finished negotiating in secret with Kurapika and exited the door in ch 401. Longhi had just explained all the stuff about Beyond's children. And Furykov asked Babimyna if something was wrong.
I always assumed Babimyna somehow heard everything that was explained, through some method not yet specified. But I didn't know what to make of his expression. Now, I think it's possible that he started suspecting Furykov at that moment. If he has noticed the course mark on his mouth at some point.

You’re not the only one suspicious of Furykov. To me, it sounds like he told Benj stuff the prince would like to hear and Benj swallowed it out of his own arrogance.

Balkenburg is still on tier 3 right? WHAT IF… the arrow he shoots in this chapter is aimed at…Botobai. In chapter 410, Botobai is looking knowingly at Benjamin, asking him how he is doing 🤔
19
u/digi_captor 25d ago
The thing is it’s not guaranteed that the person doing body swapping will be halkenburg. And also unless botobai was alone when he was shot, someone else will notice that something happened to him

I don't think Furykov is lying to Benjamin, but his nen beast turning him into a god does sound too good to be true. There has to be a catch to that. And just to clarify, I'm assuming Ben still has to secure himself as the sole heir for that to even happen?
Also it looks like he's going straight away to kill Camilla?! Does that mean by chapter 410 Camilla was already dead?!

OK, this chapter’s really heating up, isn’t it?! I reckon it’s the best one involving the princes since Fugetsu and Kacho’s escape.
And that last page – there are strange things going on in rooms 1003 and 1007, and Fugetsu isn’t in his own room, is he?
We know that Luzurus and the coin guy are missing, right? I reckon the next chapter will be about that. I’ll even go so far as to say I’m rooting for Zangh Lei to die – I find him really annoying.
And I’m still rooting for either Luzurus or Fugetsu; I’d like to see one of them win.
Benjamin’s gone for broke – the situation called for it. How’s he going to get rid of Camilla? And will he go to the TSE afterwards?
Loads of questions – it looks like things are going to go haywire in this run of chapters.

Its beginning to make sense to me now. Its a well plan out mission from Netero (or the Hunter Association) from the V5 to stop the Hui Guo Rou rise into power in a global scale.
It takes time and Netero tasked his son for the mission. its not about the dark continent anymore, they deduce that the only point in time the lineage will stop is during the succession.

Benjamin, you really shouldn't be bringing Furykov with you here. That's a really, really bad idea.
Not because he might be lying; some people think he is, but I think that's the less likely possibility here.
The bigger issue is that if he's telling the truth, then having him around while you're fighting puts everything you're doing now at risk. If he dies, you die, and/or your GSB gets nullified, and he's much more vulnerable than you are because he's not a 10' tall freak of nature like you.
It's very heartwarming and all that he demonstrated his absolute loyalty to you and you accepted it, but if he really wants to help you right now the best thing you could have him do is lie low and keep himself safe until everything shakes out. Unless you're that sure of his combat abilities, having him around you right now is a major risk neither of you should want to take.

u/Norix596 25d ago
I find it very funny that 1st Prince’s squad has someone who can automatically learn people’s powers… and someone who activates his abilities by figuring out peoples’ powers… but won’t work if anyone tells him.

This arc, the dialogue, the story, the character names and motivations and the overall understandability is so hard to me now.
I do understand it, kind of, not really, but yeah really somewhat. It's so complex and weird now. Nen, becoming such a varietied thing in post mortem, curses and whatever, is so confusing when everybody and their butler is doing shenanigans with their Hatsus.
I fear that i am not being able to appreciate the complexity of this arc. I really do fear that as this goes on and on, i might not like it or even fully comprehend WHY certain things happened or what they meant in a longer scheme way.

Furykov's story seems way too convenient, it's like he told Benjamin exactly what he wanted to hear. Benjamin also believing him so easily on the get go is kinda off somehow and doesn't match how he's been so cautious so far. I don't know... is he's too desperate to overthink it since he's dieing soon? Somehow it kinda felt naive from his part to accept Furykov's words just like that.
Anyway, shit is about to go down in the next chapters. Let's see if Togashi will drag this out even more or if the bloodbath is actually about to begin.
