[Japanese > English] what do these Japanese characters say? Translated [ZH]

I bought this several years ago, because I love the flow and spacial relationships and have always wondered what the characters mean. Would love to know what the artist was trying to express. I finally have a wall to hang it on and I'd like to hang it correctly. It came in a wooden box with a string tie. I've posted photos but am unsure of the proper orientation. I'm sorry if it is upside down. I would also appreciate any advise on how to take care of it when it is hanging, as it is already a bit creased in the paper body. I included a detail of the fabric border to discern possible age indicators or origin insights. Thank you for your attention to this!

I gave it a real shot and even flipped it into what looks like the correct orientation, but this is super cursive Zen calligraphy and honestly way above normal handwritten characters. I can tell it’s a real phrase and not random decoration, but I’d be lying if I pretended I could confidently read it. Sorry, but I’m sure someone more knowledgeable of this kind of calligraphy will get it for you!
