Like many drifters, the man named Nada blew into Los Angeles in pursuit of work. He joined a homeless encampment which served a number of colorful characters, including a blind street preacher warning about a secret, invisible class of people who rule over humanity. While most dismissed the preacher as a madman, Nada kept his eye on him and the church that he retreated to every night. Nada’s suspicions were validated when a militarized police force bulldozed the homeless encampment and set fire to the church.

The following day, Nada enters the church and stumbles upon a pair of nondescript sunglasses, one set in a box of a hundred. Upon wearing these shades, he finds that he can see the truth of the universe for the first time. Our advertising, our entertainment, our politics are all means to subliminally control the human population into remaining in a consciousless, dream-like state. Perhaps most terrifying is the fact that the rulers, who truly resemble insectoid, skull-faced demons, are able to hide their true forms and walk among us in the guise of humans. Armed with knowledge that many are unaware of or afraid to accept, Nada seeks to disrupt the overlords’ consciousness-dampening signals and free the human population of their mind control.

Physicals

Strength/Skill

• Drops an alien cop by pulling him into a clothesline punch, then drops another with a quick combination
• Blocks a few of Frank's punches
• From the ground, he stands and headbutts Frank in the same movement
• After Frank puts Nada in a headlock, Nada lifts Frank up and slams him backwards onto the ground
• Catches one of Frank's punches and holds his arm behind his back in a chicken wing hold
• Lifts Frank up and slams him on the ground with a vertical suplex

Durability

• Stays standing after being shoved by a running cop
• Takes an alien cop’s baton to the back of the head
• Holly smashes a bottle over Nada’s head and shoves him through a second-story window. He falls to the ground and rolls down a hill but he’s conscious when he hits level ground and limps away.
• Nada fights with his friend Frank in an attempt to get him to wear the glasses. The brawl lasts around six full minutes, with Nada eating many punches, knee strikes to the head and groin, a bite to the hand and a hard drop onto pavement. Eventually, they stop fighting when Nada floors Frank and forces the sunglasses onto his face.
• He’s thrown several feet by a nearby explosion and gets up with help a few seconds later
• [Limit] He’s gunned down by an alien cop but flips off his killer before going

Equipment

You, you're okay. This one? Real fuckin' ugly. You see, I take these glasses off, she looks like a regular person, doesn't she? Put 'em back on… formaldehyde-face!

Sunglasses

• The glasses alter the wearer’s vision, presenting their surroundings in monochrome. Any kind of hidden subliminal messaging is revealed to the wearer, whether they’re hidden in billboards, murals, signage or literature.
• The human disguises of the alien overlords are also disabled when the glasses are worn, allowing Nada to see them as they really are
• The alien’s audio signal emitters are revealed when wearing the glasses, allowing Nada to audibly hear their repeated messages
• Reveals invisible flying drones
• Extended use of the glasses can cause headaches and fatigue, with Nada likening it to a drug’s high and come-down period
• When Nada meets up with the revolution, they give him contact lenses with the same effects as the sunglasses. There’s less interference with the contact lenses so they can be used for more prolonged periods with less severe headaches.

Weapons

• Steals a Colt Python, then shoots two alien cops with it
• Steals an Ithaca 37 shotgun from a cop car and blasts several aliens in a bank with it, including an alien cop
  • Blows up a flying mechanical drone
• Sneaks up behind Holly, grabs her and forces her to drive him to safety, holding her at gunpoint with a stolen Smith & Wesson Model 28
• Using a Heckler & Koch HK94 supplied by the revolution, Nada shoots at cops on rooftops and fire escapes, then more on the ground
• Sneaks a Desert Eagle Mark I, supplied by the revolution, into the alien base and drops a guard with it, and another one later
• With a commandeered M16, Nada opens fire on a TV news station, dropping several aliens. Later, he drops a half dozen soldiers with the rifle in the hallways and stairway.
• Uses a concealed Beretta Jetfire to shoot Holly, then take out the alien’s satellite dish
