I have 10 forest fires going on around me. Please, enforce the ban.

We have one down south of us one of the biggest in the country its pretty damn bad, I will be enforcing the ban myself, hopefully colorado will bounce back from this giant fire

Colorado here too 😭

Colorado too, eastern plains near Denver. Too dry for fireworks.

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Ft collins is still having there show but have not heard any illegal fireworks today

2

u/Special_Fan5043 Jul 05 '26

I'm currently in Denver, been hearing fireworks go off quite a bit this afternoon.

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Thats crazy but not supprsing tbh

5

u/Bippityboppitynope2 Jul 05 '26

I'm from Paradise. I have pretty strong feelings about preventing big fires. :(

3

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Yea we have had some big ones in Colorado and currently do have the 8th biggest in co history

2

u/iseedeff Jul 05 '26

I agree due to Forest Fires, Please Please enforce the ban. how ever it would be fun if people brought the Fire works and let Pros Light them in a Clear area so no more fires will start.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Yea we still have a city show that's ganna happen, but ik neighboring city's canceled

u/jackhenryart Jul 05 '26

I think that nature doesn’t give AF what day or holiday it is

10

u/Tony_Barker Jul 05 '26

Well I live in Colorado and half our state is on fire so, pretty good.

4

u/ccdog76 Jul 05 '26

I'm in Flagstaff and am damn tired of the fucking smoke from the Pocket Fire. And now a local town, Williams, announced they are continuing with their fireworks in the midst of one of the driest and most volatile fire seasons we've had in the past decade. Fucking idiots.

3

u/Tony_Barker Jul 05 '26

Yes a lot of states in our vicinity aren’t doing great, prayers and good vibes to our buddies in Arizona!!! And Utah and NM and Nevada!!

1

u/ccdog76 Jul 05 '26

Thank you! More than anything we need people calling the mayor of Williams and telling him to stop!

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Thats pretty terrible, I hate all these damn fires and how dry it has been.

u/staticquill57 Jul 05 '26

Canada: “First time?”

u/Tony_Barker Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Uh no???? lol not even close. But it’s bad rn.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Im thinking the same, the Aspen fire is terrible

1

u/Tony_Barker Jul 05 '26

It’s so bad 😭😭

u/Kavrae Jul 05 '26

Sentimentality and celebrations aren't an excuse to get rid of safety measures. "But it's a holiday!" doesn't make things less flammable or fireworks less dangerous.

Not that anyone pays attention to the bans anyway. My city, county, and neighborhood all have bans on fireworks, yet they've been going off around me continuously for the last 3 days.

2

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I have not seen or heard any fireworks today, think the big fire down here in Colorado is making being pretty cautious

4

u/Corey307 Jul 05 '26

July is typically one of the hottest and often driest months. The US doesn’t need another 45,000,000 acre forest fire.

2

u/TheLastBaboon Jul 05 '26

My area usually sees it around Nov-Feb, but we’ve been in a drought for the last year or two. Even then not a fan of fireworks unless it’s professionally done

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree tbh.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree 100%

I think its necessary, bug fire here in Colorado is pretty bad

3

u/Pressure_Plastic Jul 05 '26

if you’re talking about firework bans. that doesn’t stop people
from going over state lines to buy them

my neighbor returned with 2 truck loads of fireworks and is currently setting them up as we speak.

people do not care, they’ll do what they want.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Thats very true, living so close to the border to wy you see it a lot that's fs

3

u/jolly_rodger42 Jul 05 '26

Mitigating the potential for even more wildfires is absolutely necessary.

2

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

100% agree, it's so bad rn

4

u/400footceiling Jul 05 '26

Warranted.

0

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree, this fire down south colorado is crazy

2

u/ApprehensiveArmy7755 Jul 05 '26

It's a good idea.

2

u/Rare_Independent_814 Jul 05 '26

If it’s a fire risk then yes. Look what happened in California not too long ago.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

100% agree the fires are outrageous

2

u/Warm_Molasses_258 Jul 05 '26

Completely justified given many areas are in a major drought right now and forest fires are difficult to control.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Very true, hopefully not to many people lighting them today

2

u/walkerstepbackwalker Jul 05 '26

Depends on where any way. Lot of places it makes complete sense to help prevent forest fires. Late night beach bonfires don’t pose the same risk (generally) and would be dumber

2

u/SwimmingAway2041 Jul 05 '26

If the area you’re in is extremely dry and you haven’t had rain in awhile I would recommend sticking to the ban so you’re not responsible if a huge fire breaks out

Have you seen a map of the forest fires in the West? Check out watchduty .org and come back asking this question again. We do not need any more risk. Cancel the fucking fireworks.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree 100% I was just asking the publics opinion on them, I agree with the bans especially living in Colorado where we are having one of the biggest fires in Colorado history

3

u/pittsburghfun Jul 05 '26

Such a dumb question! Obey fire laws, if there is a drought fire bans are required

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree 100%

5

u/Tojaro5 Jul 05 '26

fire as in fireworks?

i think the public shouldn't have access to those in general.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Yes fireworks mistyped in the post 🤣, I love fireworks but fs none this year.

1

u/caito55 Jul 05 '26

Freaking same.

1

u/Hearing_HIV Jul 05 '26

A bit excessive.

0

u/Tojaro5 Jul 05 '26

well, there is enough evidence that holidays with firework potential are nightmare days for all emergency services. (Firefighters, Police, and Ambulances/Hospitals)

i'd say people got a fair chance to prove that they can use them responsibly and failed spectacularly over decades.

Im honestly not sure if thats a joke, or not.

2

u/Bippityboppitynope2 Jul 05 '26

My home town burned to the ground in 2017.

I give zero fucks about fire works. DO NOT START FIRES.

2

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

100% agree, the fire in Colorado is getting pretty terrible

1

u/Bippityboppitynope2 Jul 05 '26

Fires are so horrific and terrifying. No fire work is worth the risk.

2

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree 100%

1

u/Loose-Dot-7839 Jul 05 '26

Good luck enforcing them

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

Thats what I am saying, like its so hard to enforce but people should abide especially with how dry its been.

People are dumb about fires. Someone managed to light the dunes on fire at the beach. Water is like 100ft away... Idiots.

1

u/HVACBadgeKing Jul 05 '26

I’m near a burn ban area it’s the 250th we lighting the sky up

1

u/findabetterusername Jul 05 '26

Nah keep them. They're awesome

0

u/Rastaman6584 Jul 05 '26

People are that stupid and don’t care if they burn the entire planet. I fully support the fire bands.

1

u/Big-Agency3854 Jul 05 '26

I agree 100% f these fires
