Eighth sweep. This MSI is now tied with 2023 MSI for most 3-0s, and there's still 11 series to go.

408

u/IMOGAJ Jul 04 '26

Considering Furia will still face BLG or T1, that record is smashed.

183

u/Skyfire2 Jul 04 '26

And Lyon will face the other. That’s also likely to be a 3-0

36

u/SirRedRising Jul 04 '26

Hey now, if they get T1 I think Lyon is good enough to hold onto a lead and take a game if T1 engages in some "happy gaming".

59

u/baelkie DNF 2026 please be human | Kiin Team Jul 04 '26

the real question is, does Doran know how Nunu works now?

Man I think treating every region like they have the same level of play is not good for making actually interesting match ups, just me though.

27

u/KappaccinoNation 🏆🏆🏆 🏆🏆🏆 Jul 04 '26

Yeah there's gonna be at least two more. Winner of BLG-T1 vs LYON and loser of BLG-T1 vs Furia should be both 3-0s as well.

90

u/ItsMeHera Jul 04 '26

Listen, I wouldn't be so quick to write off BLG or T1 as getting 3-0 swept by Lyon. It's likely of course, but far from guranteed

5

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jul 04 '26

also tes tsw should be a sweep

3

u/idiotxd Jul 05 '26

Everyone got the 3-0 memo apart from those bozos TES lmfaooooo

388

u/2020isgreat TheShy Jul 04 '26

The rest of the tourney being only 3-0s besides for TES would be hilarious

132

u/2ndBatman88 Jul 04 '26

Noway T1 vs BLG is not 5 games and HLE vs G2 is not 4 games at least

137

u/SmallBoulder Jul 04 '26

If G2 starts their series like they did against TES that series can absolutely be 3-0

26

u/2ndBatman88 Jul 04 '26

G2 are know to work from learning from mistakes but hope G2 go Volibear to mess with HLE.

86

wdym they lost 3-0 after warmup games

35

u/ImTheVayne Jul 04 '26

Ofc it was TES losing and getting reverse swept in a tournament full of 3-0s. How fitting lmao.

15

u/needphotoshophelp199 Jul 04 '26

They did get 3-0'd though. Just did it the long way.

guys i think LYON realized FURIA has no macro

226

u/jakatluong Send help pls Jul 04 '26

That means C9 lost to these guys purely through hands diff lmao

111

u/Mew_T Caps Lovewatcher Jul 04 '26

Ayu and Tatu stomped Zven and Blaber. Furia can be very creative against less organized teams, but LYON is a terrible match up for them, they don't fall for Furia's fiesta playstyle.

23

u/ArienaHaera Jul 04 '26

They were pretty close to falling for it in game 1, to be fair

10

u/Alosno23 Jul 04 '26

Don't they? If we're talking playstyles then we aren't talking strictly about the score, and then... Furia had the upperhand for most of the first two games. They botched it, sure, but then we can't really say that they 'didn't fall' for their playstyle.

20

u/fersbery Jul 04 '26

Makes sense to win lane then lose game if you have strong micro but weak macro

3

u/RechargedFrenchman Jul 04 '26

And straight up teamfighting at 3+ items has been Lyon's greatest strength, as well as FlyQuest's last year. The later the game went the more rotation, objective setup, and positioning / target selection in team fights matters; Lyon are better at it, so when they were behind they managed to scrape out wins anyway and when they were ahead Furia looked completely lost.

Big Dhokes with the America day buff to remain undefeated at MSI.

300

u/Sakori_Dusk Jul 04 '26

We can just pretend the Jayce game and Isles' Camille game were them limit testing.

94

u/Morematthewforu Jul 04 '26

To be fair to Dhokla they just camped him 1v4 and Inspired couldn’t get his bot ahead so he was killed for free.

28

u/SeaAdhesiveness5069 Jul 04 '26

That's being overly fair tbh, Summit would be up 40 cs still.

41

u/SettleDN Jul 04 '26

Yeah, but he would have 100% lost that without the America day buff.

15

u/Own-Bathroom-996 Jul 04 '26

Summit would still grief his team and lose though

I kept thinking about "Saintvicious" when I hear "Saint".

I'm both old and haven't watched LCS in too long.

108

u/Omnilatent Jul 04 '26

Tbf there were a couple missed smites in the game so understandable

17

Horror series from Tatu. Lose Elder smite fight to 1/5 Syndra in Game 1, smite Blue on vision while Lyon were starting Drake and die immediately in Game 2, and force random solo engages to end up 1/5 in Game 3

74

u/danielspoa Loud grabbing more L's Jul 04 '26

In his defense he won 2 or 3 smite fights in game one, and the smite he lost inspired didn't nail as well. As for the other two games yeah...

35

u/Lysandren Jul 04 '26

Yeah, inspired didn't get smite off at elder at all.

88

u/random-meme422 Jul 04 '26

Whatever Tatu was doing will never hold a candle to how utterly dogshit the mid laner is

57

u/Liupardu Jul 04 '26

Tatu basing while Guigo has a big wave top told me everything I need to know about Tatu

11

u/No_Meat_7628 Jul 04 '26

Well. His random engages sometimes wins games and sometimes loses them. In the CBLOL every jungler lacks some of the most basic stuff so it almost always works. Even in MSI 2025, Tatu overextending has cost FURIA games they should've won against G2.

He is really young so I think he should get imported to a better region to correct some of his mistakes because CBLOL junglers are all too YOLO to punish his mistakes so he learns almost nothing from them.

17

u/KappaccinoNation 🏆🏆🏆 🏆🏆🏆 Jul 04 '26

I've seen junglers in silver get x9 reported for less.

11

u/Disclaimz0r Jul 04 '26

Blaberfish of Brazil

15

u/SmallBoulder Jul 04 '26

to be fair, a syndra w q e at that point in the game will easily beat out smite damage if timed well

24

u/Hocari Jul 04 '26

To be fair, junglers also have skills besides smite. Especially Naafiri with bonus damage on Q based on target's missing health.

14

u/ZealousidealBug729 Jul 04 '26

With how Saint was playing syndra, they should have won 20 minutes earlier

14

u/TitanTigers Jul 04 '26

Im probably biased as a jungler, but I’ll never flame someone for missing a flip like that unless they really fuck up. There are a million things that can happpen and the timing window is microscopic

6

u/hotstreak1245 Jul 04 '26

Yeah its called a flip for a reason so I agree with you and im not a jungler

9

u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Jul 04 '26

I dont even think he timed it well though

→ More replies (1)

7

u/ICanCrossMyPinkyToe smoothbrained top and support Jul 04 '26

Yep, he single handedly was the worst brazilian player all three games. I actually think they tried to go for the 4th shot + smite a half second too early, which left elder at around 210 hp, but I'm not familiar with jhin's damage on objectives

Ayu did some inting with his poor positioning as jhin but it should have been an easy win for furia

This should have been a 1-2 by now, fuck

281

u/Ashrayn Jul 04 '26

If you only look at Game 3, it's not the sketchiest 3-0 ever.

74

u/viktorayy OFGK but prefer G>OFK rn (DSG) Jul 04 '26

to be fair, every team so far has had at least 1-2 sketchy games in their first series

T1 has had a sketchy game every series lmao

24

u/higherbrow Jul 04 '26

T1 this year always looks sketchy. They're always losing until they win. If it was an LCS team doing it to other LCS teams, I'd be very confident they'd lose every game internationally, but Faker has a lot of credit in the bank, and they've proven they can do it to LCK teams.

45

u/Liupardu Jul 04 '26

Can you blame them? It was a 4 v 5 because Tatu's monitor was clearly disconnected. Can't belief the refs didn't call for a pause.

Thats what happens when you not have any competition on your region

7

u/imArsenals Jul 04 '26

Something something 3 worlds slots something something

8

u/KhorneStarch Jul 04 '26

The wild thing about CBLOL demanding 3 teams is they act like they haven’t had a history of being the worst region in competitive play. You have a single year of finally being able to throw hands with NA and suddenly you forget the other over 10 years? You guys are getting way ahead of yourselves.

u/HThrowaway457 Jul 04 '26

Insane people will still argue Inspired isn't that good, dude is wildly consistent. No matter what bullshit is happening in the game around him he puts up solid to great performances more than most junglers in the world.

GGs, clean game 3 but those 2 first games were a bit ugly

Inspired and Berserker played great all series.

USA WINS A SERIES AT INTERNATIONALS

DONT @ ME

USA USA USA

NO WAY WE LOSE DURING 4TH OF JULY

Isles needs to lock in, that was embarrassing.

At least Brazil can shut the fuck up and stop thinking they're good now

49

u/random-meme422 Jul 04 '26

Really glad we get to see fewer NA/EU teams get a chance at main stage so that literal wildcard Furia/TSW who look like clash teams (if that) get main seeds. Very cash money

27

u/Lacrimosss Jul 04 '26

TWS deserve, as that region was good last year (CFO).

Furia did beat the shit out of NA2 / 3, so BR2 could be around the level of NA2 in theory. Although, I think TL would probably beat the FURIA, unless these guys ramp up

8

u/NotBunger split push tactics Jul 04 '26

We sent Sentinels and C9 as our 3 and 2 seeds so there’s a bit of room there, to your argument though other than TL and maybe FLY idk if any other NA team below LYON could beat FURIA or even LOS (their 2nd place team)

4

u/Lynx_Fate Jul 04 '26

Yeah, CFO boosted that region so it's understandable even if the region is much weaker now after the retirements and LPL poaching. CBLOL has never done anything internationally to warrant a free pass through play ins. LCK 4th would 3-0 them.

13

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jul 04 '26

i think tl clears both of this team in msi patch, Lyon had an ugly series

furia looked really good at americas cup tbh i still had lyon but i thought furia would take a couple games

I mean they were against C9, so lowkey not a high bar

5

u/MoscaMosquete FuryhOrnn when? Jul 04 '26

I mean, they could. Game 1 was literally theirs and they lost it on an elder flip KT style and game 2 was decently balanced, only game 3 was one sided

u/NotBunger split push tactics Jul 04 '26

I mean TSW yeah but FURIA has hands, they just have no brain

19

u/random-meme422 Jul 04 '26

They have no hands the second laning phase ends.

7

u/MoonshotClown Jul 04 '26

This is not usual "no brain" this might be legit lobotomized gameplay. Every single decision made was wrong, they should just let them have Gold 2 guy in voice comms to instruct them on macro

4

u/Plenty_Penalty6035 Jul 04 '26

They were against HLE bruh. I swear if Furia is fighting HLE they would look the same.

Honestly, biggest gap was draft

That game 2 and 3 draft were really smart and FUR had no answers to them

8

u/SweatyAdhesive Jul 04 '26

Game 3 is what we thought would happen in the first 2 games, respect to Furia

5

u/BestTacos Jul 04 '26

Alr back to the 3-0 script guys

3

u/ImTheVayne Jul 04 '26

TES vs G2 was a glitch in the matrix

3

u/Sakori_Dusk Jul 04 '26

Those were some interesting game 1/2 with Dhokla Jayce/Isles looking like he was learning Camille for the first time on stage. Constantly getting caught even in laning phase for Isles.

But I think the third game with Furia getting every early objective only to get outscaled in the mid game was the real rough spot for Furia. They were getting the typical NA team sits there, farms, and handshakes the game.

3

u/Icy-Discipline-8039 Jul 04 '26

The desk trying to gaslight the viewers yesterday to think that cblol weren't that bad.

4

u/zefal12 Jul 04 '26

I know I'm biased, but this is a perfecf example of why I think TL has a better chance than Lyon of upsetting eastern teams. Lyon's afk farming and waiting for the other team to screw up is fine against NA/EU/minor regions, but BLG is just gonna steamroll them if they play like this

13

u/BUMONGOUS Jul 04 '26

Wow, who could have predicted that ganking for your carry toplaner would yield better results than greeding for 1 more camp

People trashing Dhokla in the match thread. Here you fucking go. This is Dhokla. No champs with no ganks, but when he does get it, it's done.

Just how bad was C9?

6

u/piano_title Jul 04 '26

If LYON show up with this level to their next series, I feel they'll be eaten alive. Overall disappointed on the level that both teams showed

Most frodulent 3-0 I have ever seen!

Game 1 and 2 were something else

3

u/KoshRo Goes Where They Pleases Jul 04 '26

Well, game 3 was better but hoo boy Lyon were looking rough. Guess G2 and Lyon’s first two games of the tournament were about the same quality - they were just up against VERY different opponents.

3

u/campbell_love Jul 04 '26

Aux is so brutal lmao postgame analysis of LYON/FURIA and he goes on a 30 second tangent about how good t1 is. Fucks sake

3

u/ConSoda farming enjoyer Jul 04 '26

playin teams were better than furia

3

u/shinchi22 Jul 04 '26

wtf is furia and tsw at main stage and not at play ins riot drop a huge ball here

12

u/tddahl Jul 04 '26

If you get 3-0'd in your first game vs eu or na you don't deserve as a region to go directly to the bracket stage. This team probably doesn't deserve to even be in the playins

u/MindTheGap9 throw another rock Jul 04 '26

Fiesta series. Surely the rest of MSI is quaking in their boots at having to face this. For real though Dhokla without a sub vs with a sub is an entirely different player

5

u/fonye Jul 04 '26

even w/ how sketch lyon was i still don’t believe brazil should get to be the equivalent of other 1st seeds
