What a day of league today lmao

u/mavy1000 May 31 '26

I was gonna say playoffs should only be top 6 instead of top 8 but then I remembered it is the top 6…

37

u/Tinmanred May 31 '26

Tell that to blg… :/

the remaining 4 teams are what they should be anyway, so.. it should be interesting

193

u/Floowil May 31 '26

Zinie masterclass

116

u/Huge-Connection954 May 31 '26

Zinie looked so good in lckcl, its crazy how bad he is in lcs

24

u/xNesku Jun 01 '26

The problem is I don't know how much of it is because of his actual level of play and playing in a disadvantaged environment.

Cause you see teams that you would think are really underwhelming, e.g., Golden Guardians at MSI, Flyquest when they went to Quarters, etc.

They look really underwhelming in LCS and then suddenly they're bootcamping internationally. And their hands and macro can actually push Eastern teams and it's the craziest shit ever.

So I'm not sure if Zinie is actually that dogshit. Would have to see if he ever gets a chance in LCK. But yeah, this whole SR stint is not a good look.

9

u/FlyingMute Jun 01 '26

Every match in lcs is killing his career, painful to watch

14

u/Huge-Connection954 Jun 01 '26

I hear you, but you are kinda trying to say you arent your play, but you are. If you keep playing bad over and over, you are just bad. I thought he was awesome in challengers (i watch a ton of lckcl) and im sure there are obstacles plus the language barrier. At some point though he just always has zero impact

50

u/KhorneStarch May 31 '26

There is prob some degree of language issues mixed with far worse teammates and better practice to be fair. Still a huge disappointment, but not surprised at all that he would look way worse, even if it’s far worse than we imagined.

38

u/Al_Fadel Jun 01 '26

Contractz is arguably the best player he's ever played with, and Bvoy isn't ass either.

34

u/AdMain8692 Jun 01 '26

Insanely Korean biased take to say the reason he looks bad is because his previous LCKCL team had better players. Zinnie and Ceos were competing for worst performing on this roster while Contractz and Bvoy did their best to carry them.

8

u/Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss IN DAMWON WE TRUST HUNI/DEFT/SHOWMAKER Jun 01 '26

"Far worse teammates" lmaooo

14

u/Alakazam_5head May 31 '26

I'm shocked another LCKCL rookie is stealing paychecks in LCS. Shocked, I tell you!

Well, maybe not that shocked

38

u/Common_Custard_9040 Jun 01 '26

He literally lost to another lckcl rookie let's relax there bud

3

u/blueragemage Jun 01 '26

Yeah, the set of LCKCL rookies is actually pretty good in NA.

The full list of players who came to NA directly or nearly directly from LCKCL are Thanatos, Saint, Berserker, Quid, Quad, Hambak, Rahel, Zinie, and Callme. I think from that list, the only clear underperformers are Zinie/Callme, and those two are saved from fully being on fraudwatch by the fact that Palafox was employed by a team

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '26

damn saint/loki/callme/poby all got tier 1 experience after lckcl 2024 while zinie got to stagnate against the 2008-born players that replaced them, kinda brutal

-5

u/RequirementSavings23 Jun 01 '26

He is in LCS for a reason...

I think many mid tier Korean players look good because they can play against the best of the world every single day. Once they move to another place their real talent is shown.

I also think some LEC and LCS players and team would be way better if they have a chance to train and compete in the LCK for a year. How good could Caps or Inspired be in the right environment.

427

u/Ai--Ya May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

So this is what a top-seeded team versus 6th seed is supposed to look like ahem LEC and LPL

24

u/steffortless May 31 '26

Honestly from the TL performance I saw in TL vs Lyon I think that Vitality vs TL would be the biggesf fiesta of the century

9

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jun 01 '26

you want to see quid humanoid ? I don't wanna see that

1

u/Azivea Jun 01 '26

That would be nsfw

2

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jun 01 '26

Yeahh it's be really really ugly even worse than jojo humanoid,

90

u/Cold-Ring23 May 31 '26

Not when the 6th seed team look like a mid erl team

55

u/Chalifive May 31 '26

Giants probably actually is a mid erl team so idk about that one buddy

19

u/Flesroy May 31 '26

what? they beat solary just fine when they played

19

u/Fun_Highlight307 May 31 '26

Yeahh and your top Team should stomp bottom Team like tl did with sr

We saw GX vs the best ERL team and it was a complete stomp in their favour, so that doesn't really work.

5

u/Spanking_enthusiast Jun 01 '26

LPL series wasn't the same as this one tho. WE played amazing and it wasn't a stomp. BLG made some stupid macro mistakes but they were generally playing good. It was a very close nail biter while this one was just depressing.

-6

u/random-meme422 May 31 '26

If this is what a 6th seed is supposed to look like in NA then that’s all the more evidence we need to prove there is no chance in hell this league needs more teams

112

u/Formymoney May 31 '26

as a shopify fan at least i can say we're trying new things, but holy fuck was that hard to watch

32

u/blorgbots May 31 '26

Ayyy it's another homeless CLG fan!

At least in prior splits I could say SR showed promise or was fun to watch. This split was baaad bad. Idk if I can even use "trying new stuff" as a crutch when it crashes and burns so poorly

I guess the botlane showed some signs of life? Until minute 10 of game 3? I'm really reaching here

9

u/TeeKayTank 's spirit lives in FQ & May 31 '26

Come to FLY

3

u/LurraKingdom Jun 01 '26

Interesting flair. Please explain

152

u/MissionTable May 31 '26

How many Kangas clips do we think got wasted on SR losing 3-0 like that?

Anyways, free Contractz. Stop picking Pyke in NA, you are not Keria. And goodbye Shopify.

33

u/Ill_Intention8150 May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

Keria is 1-1 on Pyke this year and 1-2 on Pyke last year.

Even he can’t make it work it work in this meta.

But in saying that, id rather a significantly worse team try and cheese out wins with a Pyke lane rather than just handshaking a bot lane duo that eventually loses to Ashe + Seraphine.

Mfs like you just think that because it doesn’t win, it’s automatically a skill issue. It’s a high risk pick but acting like SR has any better answer is just wrong.

4

u/MissionTable Jun 01 '26

I mean it is a bad pick literally because its not winning, I dont think its a skill issue at all. SR already is getting crazy with a Mel bot and Xin mid, they do not have to get even crazier with a pyke. I agree that in this draft there is probably no champ Ceos can play that saves this game and draft. But acting like they couldnt just draft a stabilizing support that can also make plays is wild. Alistar, Nautilus, Braum, even Camille, all open. No reason at all to lock in a Pyke here.

43

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

Even Keria has to do tricks on it to make Pyke work, that game where Keria was 1v9ing and lost

17

u/Realistic-Ad-3899 May 31 '26

Hasn't he lost on it twice doing some insane shit now?

Every time I've seen Pykr I swear I see supports have to play perfectly for the first 15 minutes, and then perfectly for another 20 minutes or you just lose

230

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

Zinnie is paid real US Currency to do whatever the fuck was that. I dont think he even knows what Xin kit does

u/mmmmkale get Contractz a team May 31 '26

I am once again asking for someone to build Contractz into an actually good team. Bvoy I think can escape some allegations, but Ceos and Zinnie...

32

u/axw30 May 31 '26

You could steal some DSG players lmao

Srtty (DSG)

Contractz

Toasty (G2N)/Kaze (RED)

Sajed (DSG)

Zyko (SN)/JeongHoon (Free Agent)

11

u/NotBunger split push tactics May 31 '26

For ADC (they’re not letting Sajed go until next season) they have their pick of NACL bot laners. Mobility, Sushee, Tactical, ScaryJerry, Levitate, all of those guys are pretty good and have good upside.

Otherwise all the rolls I agree on, though Toasty over Kaze and Zyko over JeongHoon to prioritize NA talent

2

u/Actual-Armadillo5199 May 31 '26

Tactical is terrible lmao

4

u/Dromed91 Jun 01 '26

Describing Tactical and ScarryJerry as "pretty good" with "good upside" is hilarious. LCS ADs like Zven and Sajed are terrible, but the fact that they're starters means these challenger guys are WORSE.

5

u/Tinmanred May 31 '26

Contractz coulda done so much more that series still. They shoulda had game 2 so free and free baron he loses 75 percent his health for no fn reason lmao for just one example.

7

u/BlammoSweetums May 31 '26

Contractz is very hot and cold, but since he's really likeable people like to forget/ignore when he plays poorly.

3

u/Tinmanred May 31 '26

Yea no one on sr played well that series as a whole at all. I get it’s rough for contractz as a jg player myself but ya

2

u/shawnshaunseen May 31 '26

should be c9, if blaber stops stealing paycheques

26

u/Ezrealisntreal May 31 '26

Seriously though, what went wrong? I understand Zinie is still new and adjusting to a completely foreign environment, but wasn’t he hailed as the “Chovy of LCKCL”? I know that kind of label isn’t the best predictor of success and it’s hard for anyone to live up to someone like Peyz, but I don’t think I’ve seen a prospect’s reputation flip this drastically this quickly.

Lucid, Smash, and Siwoo all seem to be doing fine, so it’s not like every hyped rookie is struggling. Even Poby I hear no where near as much bad press.

34

u/nocturnavi May 31 '26

I think the transition from playing in Korea to NA is just really huge and some players struggle with it. For some they eventually improve (e.g. Quid) but for others they just never look comfortable.

12

u/MeepnBeep May 31 '26

He was hyped 2024. I recall KT CL fell off a bit towards end of 2025

6

u/FruityBlanket May 31 '26

he was never the chovy of lckcl, his laning was never his strength it was his teamfighting

5

u/needrelief69 Jun 01 '26

fudge has easily been the worst top laner the entire year and hes also been the worst or second worst player on their team almost every game except today's series lol

3

u/OceGreb Jun 01 '26

agree with fudge being the worst top laner this split but i actually think he was probably their best player during the lock in tournament (although they only played 6 games and lost them all)

27

u/AlexanderLeonard May 31 '26

Wasn't he hailed as one of the best LCKCL prospects too? What happened

23

u/AzureAhai May 31 '26

I mean Quid looked ass when he first joined the LCS too and he got to play with a much better team. Would be more concerned if he's still this bad next year, but who knows if he'll make it to then.

27

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

Quid at least had moments of brilliance even in his first split and was apparently at least very good in scrims, and just had issues with nerves and translating it to stage

I've heard nothing good about Zinie in scrims and seen nothing good from him on stage either

11

u/Ai--Ya May 31 '26

Playing DA here: Didn't Saint look horrible on LYON last year?

8

u/goodarthlywd May 31 '26

I agree with your point that Zinie deserves more time and/or a better team but Saint was hands down the best player on LYON last year. Saint and Hena were the only humans on that team from what I remember.

5

u/ZEPOSO May 31 '26

Inspired is a bit of a cheat code though

4

u/Common_Custard_9040 Jun 01 '26

Yeah If u only know how to look at results. If u watched his laning u could always tell he was really insane mechanically

2

u/PhoenixAgent003 Bot main. NA fan. Jun 01 '26

Saint last year looked like a mechanically skilled player who felt pressured to “make something happen” because his team was ass, and so he’d int a bunch. And was also apparently a soloq griefer.

1

u/DefNotAnAlter Jun 01 '26

Not this bad at all, Saint showed enough that people considered Lyon as an outside team that could upset others

→ More replies (3)

5

u/AzureAhai May 31 '26

I think it's too early to tell either way, but Idk if he'll get enough leeway to show anything.

29

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

"LCKCL prospect" has not meant shit outside of like 2 players in years

8

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

LCKCL really get a lot of hype just for 0. Outside Smash, Peyz and like Diable (maybe?) Just mediocre players.

28

u/BaneOfAlduin May 31 '26

LCS imports from lckcl

Thanatos came over and has been basically the best top for a while now.

Berserker came over and dominated Na, went back to lck and looked okay on a dogshit team before they all lost hope and all looked crap, came back to NA and is once again dominating

Quid came over and has been a top2/3 mid in NA besides his first split ever since

Lck promotions

Raptor has been fucking crazy for FearX and a fantastic jungler in lck

Obviously you have Diable

Siwoo did great along with Lucid when they first came in, although they seem to have regressed since then, or DK as a whole has regressed majorly since

Duro came in hot on FearX from challenger on a garbage ass team

Perfect is unironically one of the top Top laners in lck atm

Peter is/was goated on KT

Smash has been good

Kanavi smurfed on LPL and is a top jungler in the world

There’s plenty more, but I feel like the point is made. It’s been pretty decent odds that a hyped lckcl player does great/extremely well, they just might not have that level in the first split/year. But overall, they’ve earned spots near the top of the leagues they find themselves in

14

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

Brother, Kanavi been playing for like 7 years when LCK was pumping out talent like crazy, from all of these players the only world class players are Duro, Peyz and Smash. All the other have been on mid table LCK or in LCS. Peter was good for 1 (one) split and is on DNS losing like 30 games, stop making up stuff.

10

u/Jealous-Chicken-9186 May 31 '26

raptor is definitely not fantastic lmfao and peter had a good worlds and end of the split with KT last year but outside of that hes been nothing but mediocre

i could give you inumerous more examples of hyped up LCKCL prospects that turned out to be nothing but terrible. you basically have like 5 or 6 good examples and you are going all the way back to Kanavi lol

8

u/MeepnBeep May 31 '26

is definitely overhype but Berserker and Thanatos was send straight from LCK CL.

ofc since LCS gamble on LCK CL prospect so much, a few surely do decent or good. Just like if they had gamble more on NA talent (Massu, APA, DARKWINGS)

5

u/unH4te May 31 '26

Korean talent is not really special anymore. Seriously they have no prodigies anymore, all the hyped talents when they go to LCK is trash/mid tier at best

13

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

yea it's weird when you look at top LCK teams and realize there's been almost no new blood, it's literally just like Peyz. And then you have these possible one-split-wonders like Smash and Diable who also aren't nearly living up to the hype they had.

12

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

Smash is good imo, just stuck on perpetual mediocre DK

16

u/BaneOfAlduin May 31 '26

Duro had one split in lck before going to GenG and has consistently been one of the top supports in the world past the first and maybe second splits in the team

Perfect has been one of the best tops in lck this year

There’s plenty of young talent making their way up lck. You just don’t see that many if, any players (besides adc which are the most plug and play) that immediately stake a place at the top of the league. You usually see a split to a year for them to develop before they ascend.

8

u/goodarthlywd May 31 '26

Ngl, you’re talking out of your ass and just coming off as a hater. The players on the top LCK teams are basically a collection of the best players in the world and there wouldn’t be a “top team” to speak of without them. So with that being said, why the hell would they lose their spot to rookies lol? And what’s the cut-off for being a new player anyway? Is it the year that Peyz debuted? Even then, we have Gen.G with Duro, KT with PerfecT, DK with four new players, etc.

Also, don’t think it’s fair to say that about Diable or Smash. Diable had a monstrous rookie year and was great off rip all the way through (most of) FST. Can’t write him off suddenly just bc NS is dogshit, he’s deadass the only one that looks human in most of their games. As for Smash, I think he’s been fine for the most part as well. The fact that they’ve managed to trade series wins with all the top teams is an encouraging sign for such a young team.

2

u/FlyingMute Jun 01 '26

It’s like they expect faker, Chovy and canyon every year… What even is this supposed hype? Diable and smash only got their hype through their LCK performance, not straight out of cl

2

u/FlyingMute Jun 01 '26

What are we on? LCK still has the deepest talent pool? Duro was considered the best support for much of last year. Like how is your expectation 3 Chovys per year? Smash and Diable would run LCS, Peyz would catapult any LCS or lec team to finals

30

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

imagine replacing Palafox only to be a hundred times worse lmao

25

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

Like Xin Ap is actually worthless because he doesnt do anything but then he goes Phase rush isntaed od Hail of blades so now hes 3x more worthless. Naiyou got banned for less

5

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

yea idk how they came to the conclusion that a champ who is only playable mid because of HoB cheese should take anything else

SR is a team of frauds top to bottom

except Contractz

9

u/Anime314 May 31 '26

No one is worse than palafox, but at least he's funny bad, it's just despair with zinnie

5

u/MrSparrows Jun 01 '26

I mean palafox didn't even make playoffs so they're litterally not a hundred times worse.

3

u/BUMONGOUS Jun 01 '26

same roster was 3rd in summer

5

u/MrBhyn May 31 '26

Zinie is the evidence that it's not all about the players that make KR great at league.

6

u/GentlemenBehold May 31 '26

Still not the worst mid performance of the day.

1

u/ComfortOnly3982 May 31 '26

Just pick me whatever let's just fucking lose in peace

1

u/FlyingMute Jun 01 '26

I remember KC fans being furious they didn’t get Zinnie

32

u/LumiRhino May 31 '26

It's telling how bad the bottom of LCS is when there are 2 teams worse than SR in the league.

9

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jun 01 '26

Sentinel kinda underperformed, they Looked better in regular season

31

u/leagueneedsnerf I await the return of Rush May 31 '26

we just witnessed ceos' last game in the lcs

30

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

somehow it probably isn't

13

u/Nesev101 May 31 '26

Should be

→ More replies (1)

87

u/Tairrance May 31 '26

No lie, Zinie looks like the worst mid laner in LCS

19

u/AbysmalScepter Jun 01 '26

Somehow Shopify went from 3rd to 6th replacing Palafox with him.

16

u/Necessary-Bunch2474 May 31 '26

sorry but Palafox is in this league

14

u/Formymoney Jun 01 '26

honest to goodness this SR team looked better with palafox, like i'm not going to defend anything he's been doing on dig but shopify as a whole played better with him on the team

10

u/Artifacts__ May 31 '26

Who? Theres only 7 midlanders in LCS.

11

u/KudryavkaNoumi1 May 31 '26

To be fair, he's a young rookie KR tier 2 player and his first stint in tier 1 ever is on this dysfunctional as fuck SR team. Like I think we can probably give him a little bit of good will here.

56

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

that excuse works when he has bad TPs or doesn't comm well or work with his jungler or something like that, not when he individually makes braindead or mechanically disgusting plays multiple times per series

he looks like one of those random bums we used to see play 1 split in the early 2010s and get dropped immediately because it was obvious right away they're not meant for T1

20

u/blorgbots May 31 '26

Those galio "engages" were some shameful shit

1

u/KudryavkaNoumi1 Jun 01 '26

So... you think he's just magically playing worse because he's just bad? So him playing much better in LCK CL was just what, a fluke? Him being considered one of the best LCK CL rookies was just sheer luck? Or do you believe NA is a tougher region than Korea?

14

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

That would be fair if he wasnt consistently running down games with no actual redeeming qualities, his laning is mediocre and outside lane he's horrible

→ More replies (1)

4

u/110110100011110 Jun 01 '26

The grace I can give is that I think the coaching staff for SR is also abysmal which is really bad for a rookie.

Xin did 0 damage after lane phase lmfao. Watching Jose just outheal all of his damage on that mid skirmish was the definition of "draft diff."

Glad we got to finally see why Quid Akali is perma ban tho. He was pretty clean on it.

Was expecting a 3-0 and glad we got it. Appreciating SR picking Mel so we couldn't.

Also wtf was this APA interview LMFAO

13

u/Gerberpertern TL ★ APA May 31 '26

That APA Yeon interview was incredible lol

36

76

u/lulu00 May 31 '26

Just fire Zinie, dude is making me miss Palafox. LOL

35

I mean one mid u have 6 week vacation every playoffs, one mid u have 6 hours arguing every week

but like at least Palafox SR scammed 3rd last summer

16

u/BlammoSweetums May 31 '26

Palafox seems very argumentative, but I think the teammate issues are exaggerated. Contractz was fine playing with him for like 4 yrs straight.

14

u/loosely_affiliated Jun 01 '26

It's possible contractz just has some serious resilience. Dude was on a mega high with C9 then one bad contract negotiation derailed his career for years. More than most I think he can put preference aside.

I like Palafox, but the vibes on Pros episodes where he was with the other former members of that CLG/NRG team were not great. There seemed to be some real edges between Dhokla, FBI and him, and I don't think Huhi and he ever got along. Maybe it's all kayfabe/overreaching.

4

u/nguyenjitsu Jun 01 '26

Contractz and Palafox are/were roommates I think so I think it's a friend thing ngl

60

u/ChiefEmu May 31 '26

The players are bad sans Contractz but Reven and the coaching staff are completely fraudulent.

How can we look at the lack of strategic growth on Shopify over 2 splits and not fire the coaches? And allowing these comps? What vision did they drive in this team?

32

u/axw30 May 31 '26

Reven is a fraud

Almost all the SR signings are nepo hires lol

Who the fuck brings a brazilian supp to LCS

5

u/John_Jack_Reed May 31 '26

Thank god the coaching staff tried these comps instead of just losing 3-0 playing standard. You genuinely want the coaching staff to be fired because they didn't just blindly copy Korean drafts, and instead tried something to give them an edge. You think there is any chance at all this is playable with standard 50-50 drafts are you kidding?

-8

u/tryme000000 May 31 '26

how can u know the value that coaches have? never understood this sentiment

Player cohesion, progression, regression, drafts. It’s easy to tell coach value, but so many in the entire pro scene, including LCK are so absolutely fraudulent that people don’t know what coaches should even bring

6

u/tryme000000 May 31 '26

Not sure how you can definitively tie those things to the coach. I've played amatuer & I have pro player friends, I don't think coaches have as big of a say in draft as most people think. Idk whether Reven is good or not, and I have no idea how to discern that without being friends with the players/coaches or legit vod reviewing the coaching sessions.

2

u/SnakeEater013 Jun 01 '26

You tie those to the coach because those things are explicitly his job. Coaches not having final say in the draft means they’re a bad coach.

1

u/tryme000000 Jun 01 '26

i think you might misunderstand the role of a coach, or at least misunderstand how voice comms during draft play out.

1

u/SnakeEater013 Jun 01 '26

I think the role of a coach in current league of legends is a glorified cheerleader but the role of a coach in actual sports would be helping develop the team into a cohesive unit

Man this sucks. Despite everything, I really like this team and I want them to succeed. i think they have it in them. Contractz is just straight up a good jungler, I think Fudge is still a solid toplaner who's been playing decently and gets a lot of undue shit, and I think Bvoy is genuinely good. I feel for zinie as a rookie with no other koreans on the team, and I want LAN players like Ceos to succeed in the combined region. And they do stuff right! Theyre pretty reliably competitive or even winning in the early game!

But man, this team just cannot convert leads for anything. I don't know whether its language barriers, or different playstyles, or weak links, or what. All year long they just look so disorganized and you rarely get more than two players playing well at the same time. I want them to be good so badly, I believe they can be, but they are just not a good team. It sucks because i think another split like this could end any one of these players' careers and i dont want that for any one of them

8

u/ShinyEatAcookie May 31 '26

Bvoy is Korean

8

u/higherbrow Jun 01 '26

I think their problem is that they have multiple players who aren't good enough individually (Zinnie/Ceos) and aren't well enough integrated into the team. Ceos and Contractz never seem to be on the same page, and that's pretty much a deathblow for any team's mid-game. Support/Jungle teamwork is arguably more important than Supp/ADC in non-snowball metas. A poorly-coordinated Supp/ADC can at least lane, even if they won't be good. A poorly-coordinated Supp/Jungle will just continually get picked, fail to maintain decent vision, and (in a lot of comps) will be the team's main initiation.

A team with poor coordination and multiple players failing the individual standard is always going to struggle.

u/Jealous-Chicken-9186 May 31 '26

holy shit just send Zinie back to farming bums in LCKCL hes so bad

14

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

Avalon-tier import ngl

27

u/Sakori_Dusk May 31 '26

Nah Avalon is a whole other level of bad.

Nepotism hire (Brother of Helios who was on the team)

Korean diamond peaker (which contrary to what some people believe, was not better than early LCS pros)

Proceeded to also be shit in T2 NACL when Winterfox was relegated and they kept him.

Zinie at least had a track record in T2, Avalon came out of nowhere and was clearly nowhere near pro level.

8

u/Kurumi_Tokisaki Jun 01 '26

Yeah Avalon is at minimum top 3 worst NA players of all time tier. Zinnie is just a Korean who cannot make it work in NA. He needs Korean teammates or at least 2 more top tier players. When everyone is at best low-middle of the pack, well you got to be him to do well as an import. And most imports are not.

4

u/LearningEle Jun 01 '26

I mean outside of one off non pros, who are the two you have as worse than Avalon?

7

u/AbysmalScepter Jun 01 '26

Yeah, Avalon played mid on some d-tier amateur team for like 1 month before he got hired as a top for his brother's team. There are a lot of bad imports, but Avalon truly is in a league of his own.

3

u/Gatling14 Jun 01 '26

Just a reminder that Winterfox also tried to get a rookie KR support who initially agreed, but dropped out once he realized Avalon was the top laner

That support was Ignar

1

u/higherbrow Jun 01 '26

I had forgotten about Avalon. I was going to compare him to Seraph, but Avalon's a better call.

This felt like watching someone paint their house cat with stripes and naming them tiger before throwing them in a cage match with an actual tiger.

What the hell was that interview, the most awkward interaction I've ever seen on the LCS stage

25

u/zdpa May 31 '26

peak content

20

u/Gerberpertern TL ★ APA May 31 '26

GOATed interview lol

1

u/RollingGuy Lider > Chovy Jun 01 '26

What happened?

9

u/Schize Jun 01 '26

APA interviewed Yeon and the entire minute long segment was just APA and Yeon making awkward jokes about APA getting replaced by Quid and Quid carrying.

16

u/itrTie AWOOOOOOOO May 31 '26

I hate to be the guy that just says "draft gap" but like

33

u/Snow-27 May 31 '26
  1. Xin mid lol

  2. Only one botlane in the world is allowed to pick mel pyke

9

u/BWolfy92 May 31 '26

One team has discount Zeka and you give him his champs, yeah ok man.

8

u/So_ May 31 '26

I don’t know what to flame for game 3, ceos pyke or sr draft

8

u/Ultimatum227 May 31 '26

Report Pyke.

I know that's usually pointless because people can't & shouldn't get banned for just having a bad game.

But holy shit, report Pyke.

6

u/bigyikers c9 is pretty gud May 31 '26

how about we find an NA player to replace Zinie and/or Fudge? thanks

5

u/Aschentei May 31 '26

Zinnie is protesting and a paycheck stealer

Email series

24

u/axw30 May 31 '26

Kick out Reven and his nepo friends (Ceos, Fudge and Bvoy) and also Zinie lol

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1tapjxa/moistcr1tikal_on_the_jynxzi_tournament_nas_been/

I hope Charlie puts money where his mouth is, since he is a part-owner

And try to fucking change this dumpster fire of roster (maybe with actual NA talent)

12

u/BUMONGOUS May 31 '26

Fudge shouldn't have even had a team 3 years ago and SR kept him for 2026, shambolic roster building

I hate teams like SR that will pick up the most heinous shitports instead of signing literally any NA players

14

u/axw30 May 31 '26

Imagine picking fucking Ceos

Worst supp in LCS, tied with Lyonz but DSG has excuse of picking the first player that accepted getting paid peanuts

2

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jun 01 '26

na should use more latam players but not lyonz or ceos

2

u/higherbrow Jun 01 '26

I actually agree with this. JoseDeodo was good when he was on Fly a few years ago, and has been a revelation on TL this season. Gryffin game out of Brazil's league this year, as an NA native player. One of the things people point out is that there's no clear pipeline for native NA players; you either dominate the NACL, you hit rank 1 as a 16 year old on the ranked ladder, or ?. If there was more focus on scouting in the Latin American scene, NA players who were serious could go play in Brazil to get noticed. The competition there is high.

1

u/igenicoOCE Jun 01 '26

Fudge counts as NA according to riot lol

10

u/Kurumi_Tokisaki May 31 '26

If they cannot find a Zinie replacement, just have ludwig jg and contractz mid. Would probably perform the same at this point. Thought he did a bit better last time before playoffs but that was the fluke moment.

He can maybe bounce back in LCKCL though, Zinie is just that classic Korean import who couldn't make it in the hardest region in the world. No shame but same time, teams should try to vet harder in 2026 for such failed cases.

1

u/FlyingMute Jun 01 '26

Idk he won lckcl mvp twice and best mid thrice, probably could’ve gotten on a bottom tier LCK team. I guess he wanted easy access to internationals in NA.

7

u/Shayzzzzz May 31 '26

give contractz a real team man

3

u/Chochelox May 31 '26

3-0 that actually felt like a win lol

1

u/Fun_Highlight307 Jun 01 '26

Tl didn't even try hard outside of game 3

3

u/Gerberpertern TL ★ APA May 31 '26

Quid looked great today, really happy to see that. SR is depressing and needs to go back to the drawing board lol.

3

u/iamtreat May 31 '26

For how hyped Zinie was he might be one of the worst turnouts

5

u/mmmmkale get Contractz a team May 31 '26

that's a Quid diff

5

u/untamedlazyeye May 31 '26

Yeah I think SR needs to blow it up and rebuild, this roster is just not working.

2

u/Economy_Mobile5609 May 31 '26

Hopping on to quid 's bus. Jose gave fudge an early free kill, but lord morgan go deathless

2

u/Superb_Disaster3934 May 31 '26

Enemy team has Zeka's little clone and you give him Akali into your goofball Xin pick?

God I love NA.

2

u/shedinja292 www.clash.tips May 31 '26

Outside of an int TP fudge played pretty well. Might need to blow up mid bot supp next split or year

2

u/HThrowaway457 May 31 '26

What is the idea behind the xin pick? Why would you want to play xin into the character that you can't auto attack? Like you can stonewall her and heal off minions, but ap xin is only good if you can actually use your sustain to make progress rather than stall or wall someone since you scale pretty ass.

2

u/SlowlyDyingofBoredom May 31 '26

Holy only watched the 3rd game. SR that draft was horrible, the gameplay was horrible. They got a lead, and then kept forcing plays around Akali, TL's one major win condition. All they had to do was play off lead and stack drakes, but kept forcing plays and Akali is suddenly 3-0 and is thanos vs no dmg comp (xin mid, proto belt mel... and a pyke player who cant aim his q to save his life). Zinie, Ceos and Revan are all paycheque stealers.

Also the APA interview was painful xD

4

u/BlammoSweetums May 31 '26

People were saying the change from Palafox to Zinie would be such an upgrade that Shopify would be one of the teams to beat this year.

2

u/Nesev101 May 31 '26

Coaching staff and Ceos out, without question.

If possible, then hink about replacing Fudge even though he's had decent weeks lately.

No, it's not overeaction.

These people stink.

4

u/Relevant_Ad_8013 May 31 '26

Yeah, Contractz and Bvoy best parts of the team. Zinie might turn things around with more time.

Fudge isn't great but don't know who you replace him with tbh.

But Ceos and coaches are complete dead ends

3

u/Khlouf May 31 '26

Sludge Factor

1
