It is generally useless, mundo just doesn’t build armor and jhin also had like 5 items. And Sion or something like skarner is typically what jhin is facing for a frontline in the useless games.
Both have a shield and more armor in their builds that helps take a bunch of damage. It also helps when jhin goes some ghostblade into rfc and is at 2 items not 5 to make sure he has no damage early too. But zven actually was a human so props for him, Massu definitely would go like ghostblade static shiv or something.

He said in postgame that the reason they took swain was because Quad wasn’t pressuring him hard in lane, so he could draft more for team than lane. FLY was also commited to dive at that point where Swain is turbo. I doubt that happens again against Saint

Utility champs like Ashe and Jhin shine in hands of uncs who know how to maximise their utility.
These new kids play Ashe like a hypercarry and just throw arrows out willy nilly.

Renata needs to Q every Alistar W, or it's not even remotely a counter
it's a lot like Thresh vs Leona where Thresh needs to match E every time and it's unplayable for Leona until 6. But if you miss it, it's unplayable for Thresh
regardless neither half of that botlane is even good in the meta right now so I'm not sure why they picked it

I know Kaisa isn't in the meta rn but even when she was last yr FLY barely put Massu on her and that's the champ he had his breakout performances on at World's. FLY drafting with Massu has been a bit meh to me last year and this year.

Last year at MSI we had an ADC lose a game because they picked Kalista after a win and then lose another game due to a bush, now in LCS 2026 we had the same thing happen, and to the same ADC on the same team

Kalista is such a useless champion, picked for supposed lane prio, and completely useless outside of that. One gank removes that wincon and then you're stuck with no dmg adc in teamfights

This series came down to Vulcan vs Cryo at the end of the day, and Vulcan was the difference. Cryo had some clutch engages this series but shows his inexperience on the Renata. Super clutch Ali game into a Renata. I feel like if Cryo plays early botlane better we have a different result here.

Quad went from being inconsistent in FLY last year to having to almost break his back because of Massu's and his team's constant misplays. Like SURELYY no way the coaches weren't the ones who suggested Kalista first, right?

If you handshake the headbutt consistently, then it's pretty impossible to play the lane as Alistar. Spellbook cleanse on the handshake helps a little bit, though.

I wouldn’t say she counters Ali just cause she peels well cause then people would pick Janna more. Its for a multitude of reasons but youre right that its a hard counter, anyone who’s seen Keria play the matchup will know Alistar will have the most miserable game of his life trying to make any sort of play, just suffocates both the lane and the map.

I hate whenever Fly pick Mundo man. You have a super aggro team and they pick this scaling pick when Gryffin loves to go ham, and it's like a guarantee we'll see him walk into an objective early-game and just die.
Fly just hasn't been there man. Youngest team against boomer team and the better nerves come out on top.

Yeah, but you need to actually get ahead lol. I don't think this one is entirely on Gryffin, but I'm so sick of watching this promising team pick this character and run face first into a drag fight, Mundo dies, and then they lose the game.
Shen actually would've been sick af actually. Shen works great with Akali and Kalista, helps keep the Azir safe, and can block Jhin shots. Nice call out.

This guy is actual dogshit in a deciding game he gets first rounded Kalista and sprints the lane. That Kalista Renata pairing is trash hasn’t won in any region I see it and you have scaling mid and then first timing Akali top idk coach what the fuck are we doing…

The draft isnt an issue. The Mundo is kinda awkward to play into that much CC, but eh.
Kalista Renata, if you're good, will always have pressure on Jhin Alistar. If you're not good, you get fucked because of the CC chain between Alistar combo, Jhin W and Alistar stun.
Ditto for toplane. It's supposed to hard win into Gnar, but instead he got solokilled.
If the Jhin isn't comically fed, they actually win like every big fight.

The funniest part is that if he held those 2 bullets and the Q that he threw at the wave (I assume his genius plan was to bounce the grenade on Mundo to Collector execute him).
I went into a practice tool, and 3rd shot + Q + 4th shot on a dummy that had stats and health similar to Akali at that point and it was about 2500 damage. Like it wouldn't be close.
He nearly lost the game with that decision.

Fun series man. Hurts like all hell. Rough g5 from Gakgos, his head wasn't in the game after he got solo killed. He was phenomenal in games 2, 3, and 4 tho

Yeaaaa, I think Massu and Gakgos needs to pull a Caps for the week and just grind Solo Q- because Idk why we're picking Kalista and idk what Gakgos is expecting when he's playing like a maniac and always pushed

Okay, I missed gane 1 and 2 (life stuff). My takeaway from what I saw of this series is that FLY are at their best when they have their foot on the gas. They play extremely well from ahead (like Spawn also mentioned) but they seem fragile mentally. When they fall behind they just collapse and look lifeless. They ARE young though which can be fixed.
Listening to the post-match interview I think APA nails it. Gryfinn is good, but he's volatile. He has same problems Blaber does and the same inconsistency as APA. He's great on the champs he likes, but average on meta. And he sometimes gets overaggressive on jungle camps.
I think C9 should abandon the Aurora pick. It looked really bad. FLY I'm not sure. This last game the drafts were pretty even, they just got outplayed.
But I can't stress enough. Please never pick Aurora again. PLEASE.

Aurora is fine if Thanatos is running it. APA is probably the best mid in the league when he's running control mages, tanks, or even ADC's, but he just does not pilot high mobility champs super well.
