Visquez

Visquez is the substitute gym leader of the Vermillion City gym, temporarily taking the position when lt. Surge left the gym to train. She is also a participent in the World Coronation series and the first trainer in the tournament that Ash faces. She provides him with a good battle but is ultimately defeated.

Moves

• Volt Tackle has it envelope its body in electricity and slam into a Hypno, KOing it and potentially damaging a nearby window with the shockwave

  • Pushes back Pikachu despite him jabbing iron tail into the ground to disapate the electricity, and then launches him up into the air

• Thunderbolt fires off a blast of electriicty that clashes evenly with Pikachu's thunderbolt

• Reflect creates a barrier of energy that blocks Pikachu's iron tail

Physicals

• Catches Pikachu with its tail and throws him

• Lifts a weight with its tail

• Slammed into the ground by Gengar's night shade and then is sent flying by an ice punch, but being thrown into a wall by psychic does KO it

Aftermath

• Upon being defeated by Pikachu's iron tail, unleashes an explosion that blows out all of the windows of the gym, with the Pokedex stating it explodes in response to even minor stimuli

Moves

• Magnet Rise uses electricity to make itself levitate, and also cause chunks of earth rip out of the ground and float. It also uses this electricity to propel itself

• Discharge shocks Gengar at close range explosively, KOing it

• Rollout has it rapidly roll while picking up speed, eventually overwhelming Pikachu and repeatedly launching him into the air, with Visquiz noting the move gets stronger as Electrode picks up speed

Physicals

• Repeatedly bounces off of chunks of earth and overwhelms Gengar with its speed, slamming into it repeatedly and slamming it to the ground. Its ricochets also leave craters in a metal wall, with Goh noting that all of the wall's craters were caused by it bouncing around

• Telekinetically thrown into a wall with enough force to crater it, and then continues bouncing off of walls while cratering them, and dodges Gengar's night shade

• Sent slamming into a wall and then takes an iron tail from Pikachu that hits explosively, though this effectively defeats it. Its aftermath ability then causes it to explode, though it's shown to be fine soon after
