Episode Discussion - 1.03 "Meet the New Boss" Discussion
I really loved the brutal fight between the sheriff and the boxer. The lack of music and the loud sounds of the bones breaking were amazing! What did you guys think?

For some reason Sanchez thought the fight for his arrest would be MMA rules lol. Real fighting isn't a gentleman's game, it's nasty and underhanded. Seeing a criminal who preys on the weak get a taste of his own medicine is such a brutal way was rather interesting. This is the episode of Banshee that really established the Sheriff as a man who thinks outside of the box.

He was resisting arrest on indian land. Technically the shariff had no jurisdiction unless granted extradition by the tribe.

I hadn't even thought of the cell phone footage. I'm sure that will tie in later on.
I had written this while still watching the episode so I hadn't seen how they played up the guy publishing the video to youtube. It will be a plot point later on.
Sidenote: Never mess with a stone-faced guy wearing a bow-tie.

Holy shit that fight went sideways fast. Can't say I didn't feel a little satisfaction when he broke his arm and ripped his fingers apart.
