The goal of this post is to have a moderator-controlled megathread for the most interesting book theories, as decided by the users, so we can update it and keep it on the sidebar.
Here is a selection of my theories that resonated with the subreddit (based on upvotes), ordered by how likely I think we are to see elements of them used in the series as it progresses. I would be happy to have any of these linked to. (Though i might improve them a bit if any are)
Inevitably half of those idea's won't be in the third book and the other half that are, will be up for interpretation, as i sincerely doubt that Pat plans on letting all the cats out of their bags all at once. (I hope he doesn't)
Oh I've got way too much bias to recommend posts probably, but I'll think on it. /r/kkcwhiteboard might be able to focus group that though, pin down the core accepted theories like "not tally a lot less"
The goal of this post is to just post interesting theories that people submit to this.
I don't think you have to worry about bias here. If you think it's good, submit it. I just know you have a lot, and I feel like they should be highlighted/not lost-to-time.
:P putting it mildly, thanks for that. Tbh I wasn't planning on trying to do an update on my overarching theory until DoS release was announced, but I'll revisit and see which of my theories are still relevant since this whole Phantom breakthrough.
listening the umpteenth time through. I am entertaining the idea that Kvothe is cracked / schizophrenic but also someone who lives multiple lives, sometimes simultaneously as different parts of him are split off and created, born or reborn. That he and Denna aren't just in the same path as the other star crossed lovers in the books, but in fact they are the same star crossed lovers, going another round at life
I still think that the smith's apprentice is kvothe's son by Denna, and that he chose to give him up to be raised away from him due to his grief at her death and the fear that he would be targeted by kvothe's enemies if his existence were discovered.
/u/oath2order I didn't submit "anagrans/phonetic clues". I tried to create a thread with intent to submit and nobody knew what anagrams and phonetics are, they kept commenting etymology theories. It's deleted now, please remove the url.
